Looking for recommendations for covered offsite parking - Tampa Airport.
We'd like a parking lot where we can make a reservation ahead of time.

We just flew in and out of Tampa last weekend for a 48 hour trip. Their short term parking can't be beat for convenience. Just take the elevator up a few levels and there is your car. It isn't cheap (~ $25 day) so I wouldn't do it for a 2 week trip but for a weekend it is definitely my first choice (and you can reserve and pay online ahead of time).
FWIW.

I looked at this place earlier however, they do not offer covered parking.

just got in last night to Tampa airport. Used the economy lot - good deal and all covered. Can enter and exit through sunpass lane - easy. Must take a short train from lot to terminal but very easy. Airport is much easier than Orlando

If you were a Member of the Unique Travel Club you would not have to drive to Tampa or Orlando to catch a flight. Instead you could fly out of Leesburg Airport just minutes away from The Villages.

I would like more info too. Google didn’t populate any results.

Maybe you should rent out your car. Given how short supply rental agencies are you could probably cover your flight and make some profit! :jester:

I always use A-1 Express. Their service to and from the airport is reliable. Cost is about $6/day and they will give you a $5 membership credit if you belong to AAA. They have covered parking in their garage. You can reserve and pay online.

The person is talking about Tampa Airport, not Orlando…..
No service to Tampa Airport……. And if they did, I guarantee it would not be for $40 !!!

He/She has made this statement in other "travel-related" posts with never any further information. Guess to fly out of Leesburg you'd have to charter a plane. Wonder what that would cost.

You are exactly right. I'm betting not a charter but perhaps a partial ownership. What usually happens is a person buys a plane, and then they sell fractional ownership of the plane. With that fractional ownership, you can reserve the plane for your flights from almost any airport. Think of the traditional timeshare....but a plane. It's definitely more expensive than a traditional commercial flight as you buy your fraction of the plane and then pay for the fuel/fees/etc for your flight. In addition, there are reoccurring fees whether you use the aircraft or not as it has to be stored, maintained, etc. Some even have a fee to cover a "standby fee" for a pilot. If you don't pre-schedule XX number of days out you may not have a pilot so this fee ensures one is available.
Very expensive and the convenience of Leesburg is far outweighed by the reoccurring costs. I'll wager she is looking for more fractional owners to help drive the cost down.
