Recommendations....looking to replace 3 lights next to garage doors, 1 hanging foyer light, and the lamp post with pole.

First you need to find the type of fixtures you want, as I assume you want all of these to be matching. Then you can hire a handy man to replace, these typically do not require a licensed electrician, in fact you can do this yourself if you are familiar with electrical work and do not mind working on ladders.

Don’t forget to check with ARC. Someone will complain if they can.

I exchanged mine, checked with ARC……no standard.

ARC said it was ok to replace the lamp post?

Really? Light fixtures need ARC approval?

Any suggestions for a place to purchase the lighting?

I took mine apart, cleaned them and put masking tape on all the glass areas, spray painted them, 2 coats. They look brand new. Just an idea.

You should also think about using LED lighting for those lighting fixtures. You should think about replacing the light switches with Lutron Caseta interrupter switches that can be programmed with you smart cellphone to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise.

Great handyman to call on but he's normally booked 2-3 weeks out and he's currently on vacation.

Locate your fixtures on Amazon because the big box stores don't carry a lot of variety! The LED fixtures are the future! Fantastic way to improve the look of your home ! Kudos to you

Local lighting places are a great place to start, like Besco Lighting Center in Leesburg and in Ocala, Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting or LED Hi Tek.
I eventually bought online @lightsonline. Good luck!

I replaced my outside lights a couple of years ago and bought them at Besco in Leesburg. They have a good variety to choose from. Never got approval and no problems!

I just replaced mine as my neighbor gave me his old ones. I painted those, just like I painted my old ones. The old ones are all yours for $20. Will post a pic of them today.

When we had house built got cheap ones from villages, got better ones on Amazon, did it myself took a couple of hours, seven years later took them down cleaned and repainted, looked new and sold house, took another couple of hours

Contact The Villages warranty office at (352)753-6222. They will tell you who installed them. You can start with them. Pike's Electric installed ours. I called them and gave them my address. They were able to immediately pull up our house and told us what was installed and when and they worked with us on some updated lighting for the outdoor garage lights, the porch light and the lamp post. They were very helpful and reasonably priced.

Amazon has a large selection and easy returns. However, one brand you should check is Maxim Lighting. It offers large discounts on its website and has nice products at reasonable prices.

Be careful and buy lights whose frames are either aluminum or brass. Steel frames will, invariably, rust, regardless of how they are finished. Brass will be more expensive than aluminum.

Pike’s gets their lighting from Electric Supply (Wildwood on 301 south of the Turnpike). Even though this shop looks like it’s only available to the trades, it’s not. Anyone can shop there. They have a full catalog, and if it’s not in stock, they can usually get it pretty quickly from their other locations.

Especially check on the post light if they are all the same on the street. We added lights on each side of the garage as we did not have any. We went with wireless solar lights.

Lenhart Electric has advertised a special on those lights in the past.

Lenhart (Mike) changed all of the lighting inside and outside of our 20 year old house. They also put in pendant lights and under cabinet lighting in the kitchen.

Any suggestions for a place to purchase the lighting?

There is Besco Electric in Leesburg, but a larger store is Lightstyle on Orange Avenue in Orlando. I have trouble getting the scale/size of things right when I purchase online, and prefer to actually see it if its important to get it right.
