About 3am I had a hit on my Arlo , one coyote slowly walking across my front yard! We have rabbits and a few cats in the area but I'm puzzled on why he/she would be visiting Springdale! I thought they travel in packs.

In CA I would see a single coyote all the time. Sometimes walking down the sidewalk during the day.

I have only seen them alone and usually running away.

Back in Connecticut I left work at lunch time to catch up on some yard work. Turning onto my street I was surprised by a single Coyote walking down the middle of our street and around my car without any hesitation- beautiful animal.

Far from an expert. Pack animals often kick out members only one leader. The result is positive as it brings in new genes.

Truth I've not seen any coyote. In Florida they must obey the noise code. In John Wayne movies they howl to let him know they are sneaking though the gates with out an official id card.

That would be wolves and wild dogs that travel in packs. Adult coyotes are fairly solitary. More information can be obained by Binging "coyote habits".

No, they usually travel alone. And he was probably hungry. Im sure he went back to his home when he finished dinner

I have seen many coyotas over the years singly and usually looking at the garbage cans or dumpsters at hotels and restaurants we've stayed at and eaten at. Sometimes not even at night or at dusk

They are all over the Sharon Morse Preserve as they will use abandoned burrows the Tortoises dig.

Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't. Often depends on food availability. Speaking of which: Rabbits and cats are ideal prey for a hungry coyote.

It is not unusual to see a single coyote. Quite common these days. Why in Springdale? Humans have taken away more and more of their habitat. Therefore, coyotes are forced to adapt to our habitat.

If they had a mate it was most likely nearby...but they do travel solo, especially if the mate is back at the den with kits

wolves tend to travel in packs unless they have been shunned by the pack

Saw one today at Hog Eye Preserve in Marsh Bend! My dog detected their scent a couple years ago on path next to Everglades Rec Center. Got nervous and wanted to head home…

Been here 18 Years, seen coyotes wondering alone in the daytime. They have been known to run up and grab a dog or two. Be careful.

If you were to be near the Osceola manned gate in the middle of the night there are 3 coyotes who hunt together. You’ll see them walking near the roundabout just off Morse Blvd on the hunt every evening

I live on a golf course with a lake and lots of rabbits back there and ducks with ducklings. I regularly see a coyote in the early evenings. Where there's food and water there is wildlife.

“Dust em” …enough said. That is unless you want them to trick your dog and then devour it for dinner.

I spotted this one yesterday at the Hogeye……. He was there for quite some time making his way from one area to another ……. And he was munching on his breakfast in a spot near the MMP by the Turnpike……

We’ve see them from time to time but usually just passing through.

This one was meandering and taking his time while going through the area …..
