@Moderator .... "mission accomplished" please feel free to close thread.
Need a local handyman who knows how to install a gutter. Don't want to DIY, Just had new landscaping put in and need a single (about) 9 ft long gutter and downspout installed because water is running off garage roof like a waterfall and may ruin the new planting. Everything else is "guttered" except that one spot because previously there were a lot of large 15 yr old shrubs under it.
Called the local "big guys" and they are scheduling out 3-4 MONTHS! Same for irrigation service .... 3-4 months from the "recommended" folks!
In any case I will gladly pick up the needed supplies from Lowes if necessary. Just need someone to do it.
Any suggestions? Don't want to DIY because I recently injured my arse (medical term coccyx!) falling when a 2 step step-stool on a slippery driveway slid from under me while washing my car! Been 6 weeks and still a real pain in the arse.:1rotfl:

Far from an expert but we have a valley in our back roof. In a rain it is like a small waterfall for a gutter to help the water needs to be slowed or it will just bypass the gutter.
Also, the down spout, you need to dump the water somewhere. Handyman?

What happened to the original down spout. It’s not rocket science why didn’t you ask the landscaping company to replace it.

What happened to the original down spout. It’s not rocket science why didn’t you ask the landscaping company to replace it. LOL! Where did I mention an "original downspout" that needs to be REPLACED? That's because there never was a gutter or a downspout on that side of the garage and the landscaper had nothing to do with it not being there because it never was there :D which is why I am looking for (as is the subject of this thread): " Anyone know of local handyman to install 1 piece ~9' gutter & a downspout ? (https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/villages-florida-general-discussion-73/anyone-know-local-handyman-install-1-piece-9-gutter-downspout-321473-post1970855/#post1970855) Definitely not rocket science, just a matter of reading comprehension! :):) Hmmm, that was a run-on sentence!

If you think a professional gutter installer is expensive, wait till you hire an amateur!

Hills did our entire home for under around $260. It's only a 2/2 but to me that was a bargain for around here. To get them back for the ADDITIONAL 9' gutter and downspout even at 1/2 that cost it would be worth it but they told me they couldn't get to it until October. Then I had to book our irrigation guy for end of September but that was only because it is his son, if I wanted him (Chip) it wouldn't be until November at the earliest. CRAZY!

What’s the phone number or company name for the “Hills?”
I need gutters installed around the entire house. Thanks.

Call Doc's Restorations (352) 753-0056 We have used them as well as others on our street. They do large and small jobs at a good price. If you have a problem you can call the owner. A quick call to see if they will do it.

Gutters are finicky. Special tools needed to do it right and make it pretty.
I could do it but, like you, I do not do ladders anymore.
My personal opinion.... gutters are a waste.
Better roof design (Overhangs by at least 12") and design of the ground apron around the house is more important. Rocks, sloping, etc.
Go outside in the heaviest rains... the rain water is swooshing over the top of the gutters.
Useless.
Oh right, we need them to catch a drip in a slow rain so we don't get wet.
FYI. We are all waterproof

Not a handy man. Get a gutter man. They come to your home in a truck. There is a roll of flat aluminum pick your design and like magic it rolls out. Look around.

Wayne Themuda 401-265-7701. He is a handyman who lives in the villages who has done lots of work for me. He was formerly a general contractor. From the range of work he did for me, I’m sure he can do everything. He’s very conscientious about doing things right.

Look around. We had a professional (Hills) do the entire house except this one section 2 years ago and in a perfect situation you would be correct. Don't need a "gutterman" for this job because you can buy 1 seamless 12 foot piece at lowes to cover a 9 foot area for $6. That being said, every "gutterman" I have called has a minimum of around $300 and is booked until November. :) Simple job that if I hadn't fallen and hurt my, errrr, back I could have done myself. The issue is I don't want to wait until November to get Hills back because the rains are drowning the new landscaping under that part of the roof.

Installed gutter around gable over garage on courtyard villa - 4x8x4 and no downspout. A little pricey but the small jobs cost more, because the crew has to go out of its way for a 30-minute job. I guess its like buying the small medium or large of something. It costs more per ounce for the smaller package. M & M also installed our pull-down aluminum stairs in garage a couple of years ago. Had them move the hole toward front of garage, so I could access the stairs from the front of garage. They used cutout drywall to fill old hole. I had to have cracks (seams) taped, mudded, and textured by drywall guy. M & M does good work.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I found a local gentleman who stopped by this morning and who will be taking care of it for me tomorrow. Rarely do you find someone who says "I will be there at xxxx" and actually is! :) If all goes well (or if it doesn't) I will post "review" & name when job is completed tomorrow so anyone who might need him can contact him.
RE: Apps/sites like Thumbtack dot com .... like Angie's list (now just called Angi) and others like it I find it to be a waste of time at least for a small job. You put in a request and get spammed from folks wanting large jobs. Those are the perfects apps to use "throw-away" email addresses. There are plenty of able folks right here in town who are highly capable.

FYI, Most will change a minimum of $200 to $250 for the smallest jobs. Correct ... although the 3 I contacted through Thumbtack and Angi wanted $350 min. and they would "do me a favor" and come in Oct or Nov "if they had free time" which is why I didn't want a "gutter guy". ;)
