unlike other businesses around TV, been a bit frustrating with the landscapers.
Got a few recs on a previous thread. First one? The guy said last week he was working on a plan to upgrade my current landscaping. but I'm still waiting.
2nd company? Highly recommended? Done many jobs in TV? The guy had a bit of an attitude on the phone with me on a Monday. I did what he asked me to do - searched his site for photographs of previous jobs so we could discuss ideas. He said he would call me Friday morning. Friday came and went. Nada still. Mansfield. Off my list. I guess they don't want our business. I shouldn't have to chase down a company to do high cost work on our property. so be it
Third rec? Contacted them via FB. They read the msg. 10 days later, still waiting for contact back
guess there are not many companies who are both good, reasonable in cost and reliable around here?

A couple of neighbors used Terra Scape and one use Next Dimensions, all of these projects look great, Terra Scape is on route 301 between 466 and 466a, hope this helps.

Bill at Showtime Landscaping and Dale at Jireh, both are good, but both are very busy because they are both good. The growth here is eating up the good ones, the mediocre and not so good ones should respond faster.

We used Terrascapes. The contact person and designer was Megan Cubbage. She and the workers were fantastic, showed up on time, cleaned up and the job was finished on time. Also our yard doesn’t look like everyone else’s in my opinion.

I would not recommend Better Lawns and Landscapes. They began our work first week of May. It’s now mid July and we are still trying to get substandard issues resolved. Owner promises it will be done this week over and over with no results. I’m done with playing nice!!

Give Ron's Landscaping a call (352-227-7788). They do fantastic work, and will quote you a price that is fair. When they bid your job, their quote will include everything...no surprises. They show up when they say they will show up, they clean up every day, and their service after the job is finished is second to none. Ron's has been around for a long time, and they will be here long after your one year warranty has run out. But...they are busy. I believe they are now bidding jobs several months out. If a landscaper tells you they can start your job next week, that is a big red flag. Good Luck.

well I talked to the guy from Showtime twice. He visited my property. More than 2 weeks ago he said he was going to jot down some ideas and call me. Haven't heard anything since. The Mansfield guy just blew me off before we even got to the inspection/idea stage. Again, not impressed. Had 2 other companies come out on Friday. both are coming up with ideas. We shall see.
I guess nobody wants business! but i'm not in a desperate situation either. I could let this go into next year. it's not priority. but it would be nice to get something going too

I don't close on my Villages home for another month, but there was a house listed for sale a couple of weeks ago whose landscaping I admired. My agent was able to get the name of the landscape designer, Village Palms. They were very responsive when I contacted them and set up an appointment for a couple of days after closing.

We had Fairfield Farms, on 301, re-do and add on to ours. Lady we worked with was very knowledgeable and not pushy. She came to our house, took pictures, and asked what we were wanting it to look like. She recommended certain plants and locations for them. Called us when she had a plan worked up, went there and looked it over and picked the palm and plants we wanted. The worker were friendly and worked fast. This lady was there when they put in the plants and tree to ensure it was done according to her layout. We are very satisfied. Their price was right in the same ball park with the other landscapers but it wasn't cheap. We tried one on 301, can't remember the name and they never came out to look at the yard, ignored us. Their loss.

We have used TerraScape 3 times for different projects, always successfully. Megan really know what plants will thrive is different locations. A bit disappointed the last time (about a year ago) when the project (front of house redo) was delayed a few times, but then again the weather wasn’t cooperating. New rules last year - $1500 minimum for new customers, $1000 for existing customers. They are very busy, so expect a delay before Megan can get to your house. However, once there, she has really good ideas on what to do.

We used Distinctive Designs by Lori (Lori King) 386-478-9887. Was very responsive to our phone calls. Came in with interesting designs. When the contract was signed, she made sure that the design was approved by the appropriate boards, came when she said she would, cleaned up every night before leaving, and made sure that we were happy. Also gave us a 1 year guarantee on the plants which she honored. Definitely not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

It has been a few years since we did our landscaping. At the time, we used Village Palms on 466. They were not cheap but they did decent work.
Anyway, I do not know how they are now, but the reason I chose them at the time was because I knew for sure that I wanted a “bricks and mortar” operation — where I could actually go there — to their place of business.
I see that there are some businesses recommended in this thread that you can walk into and see what you think. That could be a start.
There are some around TV who will talk a good story but can disappear on a whim, leaving a customer with no idea how to find them.
If you don’t know anything about landscaping plants in this zone, it would be a good idea to educate yourself a little so you don’t get oversold and overplanted.

Good design is one thing. Good engineering is something no one talks about.
80% of the jobs done will be spending major money in 3-5 years. This is just a sad fact. Too easy for someone with no real education in REAL landscaping, to get a few easy power lines to answer all your questions and sell you a job. What? your neighbor/ frien used them and they did great? Oh, but your neighbor/ friend is calling another landscaper in 3 years because the 'great' landscape had poor engineering and installation practices. Escapes or Jamie's in my opinion. The rest just wish they knew what they were doing, but are enjoying the easy money.

So, are you recommending Jamies and Escapes, or not recommending them? As for Mansfield, they have a physical location, but that guy's difficult attitude was well known 13 years ago when we were new here.

Agree with you on Mansfield's attitude. His designs are at least decent looking at first, but leave a lot to be desired in the years ahead. I hear the "job security" line in my head when I am called in a few years later to re-do a Mansfield job.
Recommending Jamie's and Escapes. Leaning towards Escapes because Bobby has a lot of infrastructure engineering experience, and today's landscapes are heavy on the hardscapes.

We received an email from our lawn service recently that they are having trouble hiring employees, and so will concentrate on the lawn mowing and yard maintenance part of their business and are delaying all the landscaping projects.
Could be why you are having trouble getting call-backs.

Have you decided on an landscaper? If so, can you share the company's name and contact info? I close on Oct 25, 2021 and want some plants put in.

I would strongly recommend calling Focal Point Design and Landscaping (352-821-0823) Derrick (owner) and crew are TERRIFIC to work with. I interviewed the usual characters as referenced in many threads and decided on Focal Point based on responsiveness, design and timing.

We tried Village Palms. Rep came over, took photos, asked several good questions, and said she would have a drawing in our hands by Friday. Friday came and went, but we got it the following week. Looked really nice. We had a couple of minor changes, communicated them to her in a return email, and we were promised a quote. Never received the quote. After waiting a couple weeks, emailed back, "Where is the quote?" Again, no response whatsoever. We will contact the owner/manager of the place later this week to question their business practices. A simple "Your project is not big enough for our booming business" would have been disappointing, but accepted. But for them to totally drop the ball and stop communications was entirely unacceptable. Will try Terra Scapes this afternoon.
