“If we’re going to talk about traveling to the U.K., then we should also caution Americans about traveling to Florida,” Hilton said. “Right now, one in every five new COVID cases are coming out of Florida.”
During a press briefing Friday, White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients said four states accounted for more than 40% of all cases in the past week, with 20% of new cases occurring in Florida alone.
In Florida, only 47% of the population is fully vaccinated as the state is seeing an average of 55.1 daily new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people, the highest rate in the country, according to data from the Brown School of Public Health. And according to the Florida Department of Health's weekly COVID-19 report, the number of new COVID-19 cases nearly doubled in the state last week from the prior week."

If you read the original news article from Yahoo it's more clear that the "Hilton" person referred to in the first paragraph above is not representing The White House or the CDC. I don't think the CDC or the administration are suggesting people not travel

As high as 90+% are those not vaccinated (the not vaccinated pandemic!?)
And 75% of the new cases are the Delta strain.

I read that Sumter County is averaging 19 cases per day, the number of cases is on the rise, and the county is high risk for unvaccinated people. And there are people who have been vaccinated who have had break through infection, and although I personally know some who are very sick, they are not in the hospital. Even though we in the community are probably (and I'm guessing here) maybe 80% vaccinated, people are visiting family or have grandkids who are not vaccinated, which could fuel the spread. Even though vaccinated, I wear a mask in some public settings like the grocery store, to protect other whose immunity may be compromised (cancer treatments for example) who have been unable to be vaccinated or the vaccination may not be as effective for them. And to help control the spread of variants and mutations.

Oddly enough reports from the UK and Israel state that 40% of COVID hospitalizations are folks who have been fully vaccinated. Of course, our CDC doesn't agree because they stopped counting hospitalizations of vaccinated patients. Doesn't support their narrative, is my guess.

The most recent thing I can find when I do a web search for "CDC Whistleblower" is from December of last year, from the Kaiser Family Foundation website:
In a letter to CDC Director Robert R. Redfield and his superior, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) expressed “serious concern about what may be deliberate efforts by the Trump Administration to conceal and destroy evidence that senior political appointees interfered with career officials’ response to the coronavirus crisis at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.” (Bernstein and Sun, 12/10)

Has anyone else noticed that the CDC is no longer reporting how many people that have been vaccinated are being infected. They are only reporting vaccinated hospitalizations and deaths. Could it be that goes against their agenda to get people vaccinated? Follow the money folks. Somebody is making a lot of money when vaccines are given. They still refuse to talk about the over 35 million people who have had covid and as a result have the best immunities and the lowest by far rate of reinfection.

They've already explained this. I'll explain it in terms I know, as someone who isn't a scientist or medical practitioner:
If you are vaccinated, it means your risk of getting SICK if the virus is passed to you, has been minimized. The virus can still pass to you, but you would not be "infected."
Sort of like it someone passes you a plate of steak. You now have the steak. But if you don't eat the stake, you still have possession of it, without it being absorbed into your system. You can then pass that steak along to someone else.
The difference between the virus and the steak, is that YOU don't get to decide whether or not you consume the steak. Your stomach decides. If your stomach wants the steak, it forces you to eat it, and then you have the steak in your stomach.
The virus works the same way. You can't just say "Okay - I'm vaccinated now, I choose not to get the virus." The virus can still come TO you - and your immune system says, "not today, Satan" and pushes the virus along to someone else. Or the immune system might say "I have a headache, I can't be bothered today" and the virus enters your system even though you are vaccinated. HOWEVER as soon as that happens, the rest of your body is stronger than ever because of that vaccine, and the vaccine never gets a chance to cause any damage. It will find "nothing of interest" and pass out of your system.
What's going on, in a less metaphorical sense is this:
The CDC knows that some people who are vaccinated will have that virus transmitted to them, which would result in a positive test. But that test no longer really means anything, unless that vaccinated person actually gets sick. THAT is when it needs to matter. Of all the people who have been vaccinated, how many have gotten SICK from the virus?
So it isn't counting people who test positive, because it's no longer relevant.
The only people for whom a positive test matters, is people who are NOT vaccinated.

death and harm, I was naturally inclined to investigate the matter.
It is my professional estimate that VAERS (the Vaccine Adverse Event
Reporting System) database, while extremely useful, is under-reported
by a conservative factor of at least 5. On July 9, 2021, there were
9,048 deaths reported in VAERS. I verified these numbers by
collating all of the data from VAERS myself, not relying on a third
party to report them. In tandem, I queried data from CMS medical
claims with regard to vaccines and patient deaths, and have assessed
that the deaths occurring within 3 days of vaccination are higher than
those reported in VAERS by a factor of at least 5. This would indicate
the true number of vaccine-related deaths was at least 45,000. Put in
perspective, the swine flu vaccine was taken off the market which only
resulted in 53 deaths.
I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States
of America that the foregoing is true and correct.

Especially since the amplification factor on many PCR tests is way too high and results in very high false positives. The more false positives, the easier the fear factor can be ramped up.

I wish people would realize that unless we cut down on transmission of this virus, a more virulent mutation may develop that the vaccines will be less effective against. measles still exists but until the anti-vaxxers started up, it was virtually non-existent because so many people were vaccinated against it, the virus died for lack of hosts....same with small pox, chicken pox, etc. so as long as people say they don't have to take the shot, there are available hosts for the disease. maybe the next mutation will affect children more than currently. people worried about long term effects of the vaccine should be worried about long term effects of the virus. some researchers are looking at the possibility that the virus will increase risk of dementia and alzheimers and other neurological disorders. it's got to be of concern when the Daily Sun again runs an article on the virus in the paper today about the increase in cases. I have a question. Are all you who aren't getting vaccinated wearing masks? somehow I doubt it.

1.Who is keeping count? The hairdresser or the health department.
2.Positvie cases ? How do we know 5hey are testing each of those for the variants?
3.Which vaccine did those with breakthrough positive Covid-19 have?
4. Tell us if a positive vaccinated human had vaccine A B or C. Show us what a positive variant test looks like.
5.Mask is a choice. Just like seat belts, speeding, smoking etc . Protection with mask is for me not you. I am vaccinated do not trust you are. Know children under 12 are not.
6. Live a healthy lifestyle. Strength to your immune system comes from your choices. The vaccine will help but nothing will prevent it 100%. Covid-19 is not going away. Live your life and respect others who choose to live differently. I was against the vaccine initially. After much research my choice was for J&J due to the fact it had nothing in it that I was allergic to. Had horrid reaction. And yet since the shot other immune issues have seen a vast improvement. AS ADULTS we are responsible to our selves to maintain our health and wellness. At this point I am more curious which vaccine the people had if they get sick?We have the Unvaccinated. We have vaccinated positive. We have straight Covid-19 and Variants. We have those who had vaccine A B or C. And we have a state that dies not count well. Make your choices according to your needs.
Not sure if I am misunderstanding your statement above in red, but it has been well documented by scientists that masks do not protect you from Covid, they protect others from receiving droplets from you. Masks have been described as a chain link fence for Covid, but they do slow down infected droplets from reaching others via air.

You’re right that the CDC is only tracking hospitalizations and deaths of vaccinated people. We’ll never know how many breakthrough infections occur as most vaccinated people do not get tested and many could have minor and/or no symptoms at all which was the case with COVID before vaccinations. At the end of the day it’s deaths that really count, though who believes those numbers as well? Strange how the wording changed to dying of Covid vs dying with Covid after the vaccines came out. We will never really know how many people have gotten covid, or how many people actually died from covid. Also, all the vaccinated are taking part in the ongoing clinical studies as the the side effects, efficiencies, and long term effects from the vaccines. Most importantly, where did COVID really come from??? There’s a lot of unknowns…

We live near The Villages Regional Hospital. A good indicator of whether the hospital ER and ICU are full is when the ambulances with sirens and the helicopters stop coming to the hospital. Even though TVRH is a trauma center, when they’re full, they advise the EMS services to go elsewhere. That’s what seems to have happened.
It’s been quiet now for several days, like it was during the peak of COVID infections several months ago. With Florida accounting for 20% of all the new cases in the entire U.S., it’s pretty easy to understand why the hospital might not be accepting any new patients.

The scary part is the doubling of last week's cases relative to the prior weeks. Florida has a large amount of the Delta variant present and a large population, which makes both experts and ordinary people worry about traveling to Florida. This is BIG news nationally because of Florida's money-making tourist industry and as an example of how to handle state public health. We are fortunate that our leaders are now putting out the word about the increased need for the public to become fully vaccinated. Florida's reliance on its tourist industry has been a driving force toward its determination to have top public health care. And Florida's senior voting block also demands it.

Tampa is having a triple problem with bronchitis, Covid and red tide associated respiratory issues.
CV and Red Tide seem to have similarities, likely due to the attacking of the lungs by non-complex organisms. Both CV and Red Tide have documented long-haul symptoms. Many people do NOT have any red tide symptoms, like asymptomatic CV types. However, I am NOT aware of any red tide deaths to humans, just many sea creatures. The various Chambers of Commerce are unhappy about both red tide and CV - attempts are made to keep both out of the newspapers. Dead fish on the beach are cleaned up by earth-moving equipment often. It would be advisable for TVLanders to avoid the Gulf until the fall if possible.

I read a few minutes ago that AdventHealth Orlando and it’s many satellite hospitals have, at present, if I recall correctly, about 760 beds occupied by COVID patients. NOW! Not last fall.
I’m scheduled for a weeklong Bluegrass Cruise in January. I only booked because vaccinations were required. If the governor bans requiring vaccinations for cruises, I will definitely cancel. No way I would go on a cruise with unvaccinated people and sit in crowded little rooms playing music.
Where did you read this?

The media needs to stir the pot to keep the pressure off what our leaders are doing.
It is difficult to dispute DEATH certificates. 200 years ago so-called Indians did a "GHOST DANCE' that was SUPPOSED to ward off US Army bullets. That did NOT work and today it is considered humorous and barbaric! Maybe 200 years from TODAY people will laugh at the UN-vaccinated barbarians that TODAY believe that they can ward off the virus bullets from CV without vaccination or masks. Ha, Ha, how quaint and barbaric were the humans of 2021?

Nationwide hospitalizations are up 3 times recently due to the Delta variant. And deaths are up 2 times in recent weeks. That is for a week-to-week comparison.
Going from 1-3 is a 300% increase, yet statistically insignificant...
Yours is a perfect example of "scare tactic" statistics...

That was a great explanation and clarification. I wish something like that made it to our "newspaper".

Are all the town squares still full of maskless dancing and drinking Villagers every night? Good luck.

Well that's incredible good news! We should be celebrating!
The 3,300,000 deaths were based on a population of 330,000,000. But, since we "know" only a handful of children will die from COVID, the real population that might be affected is 300,000,000. If only slightly more than 20% of that population will ever get Covid then instead of 3,300,000 deaths there will only be slightly more than 600,000.
Since we're already at 609,000 deaths then by your calculation, there will be no more COVID deaths. Now that's something to celebrate!

Death is not a game but politics is. It's a game that some play for keeps in the risk you, the risk me, and the lie about diseases and viruses to maintain power. There is a whistleblower right now for the CDC that is signing under The penalty of perjury that the CDC is hiding the thousands and thousands of deaths that vaccines are causing to the tune of about six to eight times what they're reporting.

Why doesn't the world want to know how this virus really started? A bat, or a bat in a lab? Who is behind this and the reason?
A good conspiracy theory AND good reason that we wouldn't get the truth is if the whole thing started at Ft. Detrick, MD like the Anthrax scare did awhile back. Either way, I saw an interview with a scientist from CDC where they guy stated that there was NO way that the virus came from the bats at the market or anywhere else, as the evidence shows that it was human manipulated (or something like that). If anything, he said it could be a leak from a lab, but not from the market. I am not a scientist, so a lot of what he said meant nothing to me, even though interesting.
Interesting that no one really seems to be working very hard at discovering the ground zero for the virus.

Thirty percent of the highly infectious illegal immigrants are refusing to be vaccinated before being flown to states at taxpayers expense. In February this year we were promised 70% of Americans would be fully vaccinated by June but is only 48%. That’s why the delta virus is spreading. Somebody dropped the ball big time.

Oddly enough reports from the UK and Israel state that 40% of COVID hospitalizations are folks who have been fully vaccinated. Of course, our CDC doesn't agree because they stopped counting hospitalizations of vaccinated patients. Doesn't support their narrative, is my guess.
The better question to ask is,"What vaccines were they given?". The J&J and Astra Zeneca shots are nowhere near as effective against Delta as Pfizer and Moderna.

There have been 34,249,031cases is Covid in the US. Basically 10% of the population. So, statistically the death total could double from its current number, if the 20% figure holds true.

But if we use those numbers then we have to accept a death rate of 1.8% (survival rate of 98.2% which I suppose is still "well over 90%")
But more, if we consider that 0-17 year olds account for 30% of the cases but only 350 deaths then that means that 608,000 deaths came from 24M cases for a survival rate of only 97.5% for the rest of us.
If we take the US population at 330M, the CDC percentage of Americans under 18 at 22%, your 20% infection rate, the 34M that have already been infected, the current vaccine acceptance of approximately 60%, and the 2.5% death rate then we would expect about another 175,000 deaths (784,000 overall). So yes, the 3.3M number was far too high and the 600,000 number was too low.
Then back to the post I originally commented on, is it fear mongering to be concerned about the potential for only another 175,000 deaths?

Yes, Dr. Fauci (notice the proper title and capitalized name for respect) is in a protected class. He is in a class of Saints for his 40 years of hazardous work with diseases, which he studied for the benefit of mankind. Socrates said, "mind and body". Dr. Fauci as a modern American achieved that goal - he was brilliant in College AND a superb athlete. How many here locally that feel free to criticize him have those credentials? And of those, how many have given 40 years of their life to science, mankind, government service? Think about it objectively. Dr. Fauci's critics are really only saying that he is BAD because he did not fall in line and march with the 35% of the US population - those that have been propagandized into a lemming-like trance and following a cult ideology. I feel sorry for this 35%. They "know not what they do"!
Eventually Abraham Lincoln will catch up with them - "you can't fool 35% of the people ALL of the time". Cults come and they go. Soon this one will disappear from history. Legitimate sources of information like the CDC, DR. Fauci, and traditional network TV channels can help those now stricken with overloads of propaganda to see past the cult panderers that are driven by power and money. We live in a confusing and rapidly changing time period. Florida leaders have gone against the 35% to agree with the CDC and recommend vaccines for almost ALL Floridians. That's the beauty of the COVID vaccines (and actually the flu vaccine as well): it's possible to become infected, however the symptoms are milder than they would be if you weren't vaccinated at all. Just curious, where did this virus start? God didn't create this virus. Where and why and who? With all the deaths worldwide this should be a number one investigation.

You are a better person than I am because I'll be damned if I wear a mask to protect people who refuse to protect themselves. As for those who are immune compromised and or are not able to get the vaccine, sorry, but they will just have to do what it takes to protect themselves such as wear an N95 mask when out in public. Don't count on me to do the protecting any more.
Variants? Vaccinated don't spread the virus like the un-vaccinated so I'm not worried that I'm responsible for any variants.

Really? How many vaccinated people have had Covid and then had a reinfection? I haven't heard of any other than maybe that golfer but then that is even suspect.

That's what you told all of us people who believed in science when we all started telling YOU to wear masks. You told us to stay home so we can't infect anyone with the hoax virus, and you were going to go and live your lives however you wanted.
Well the tables have turned. It's your turn now. Stay home, or get sick. Your choice. I'm going to live my life how I see fit. I'm vaccinated.

Look at how quickly the narrative moved from - if you’re vaccinated you can’t get Covid, unless you’re in the 5% - to; well you can still get Covid, but it just won’t be as bad…
You said it yourself...bolded and underlined for emphasis.
Do you not believe your own words? I don't know where you got that 5% from but let's run with it, since you're the one who stated it.
If you are in that 5% who gets Covid after being vaccinated, then - you can "still get Covid, but it just won't be as bad."
I'm not sure how that's a bad thing. Sounds like a vaccine that's doing exactly what it's supposed to do. Reduce risk, and if you are unfortunate enough to beat the odds and get sick anyway, it reduces the severity.

95% is Pfizer’s stated effective rate. That’s where the 5% comes from… The CDC states a breakthrough rate of .007%. Yet it is becoming more apparent that the actual breakthrough rate is much higher. So now the narrative has changed from - if you’re fully vaccinated you can’t get Covid, to - well yeah, you can still get it, but it won’t be as bad…
We are still learning about these vaccines, but that’s not uncommon during a trial…

Even the fully vaccinated may need booster shot after 7 months or so from 2nd shot.
WSJ:
Immunity against the coronavirus is waning in people who were fully vaccinated with the shot made by BioNTech SE and Pfizer Inc. PFE 0.31% in January because of the rapidly spreading Delta variant, BioNTech’s chief executive said, confirming data that emerged from Israel last week.
But even as antibody levels are dropping seven months after immunization among some vaccine recipients, most of them will remain protected against severe disease and might not yet need a third dose, according to Ugur Sahin, CEO of the German company that invented the vaccine and partnered with Pfizer to develop the product for the global market.
“The antibody titers are going down,” Dr. Sahin said, referring to the unit of measurement for antibodies against the virus. “The vaccine protection against the new variant is considerably lower.”

3. Still haven’t been told what sensitivity test are set at. 10,20,30,40,50, etc . At 10 the whole country is positive at 50 only really sick people.

People continue to get this wrong. The "95%" number is the reported efficacy of the Pfizer/BioNtech and Moderna vaccines during their Phase 3 trials. This number is the ratio of the number of positive cases for the control group and the number of positive cases for the test group. You will need to read the Phase 3 trial reports for the exact definition of a "positive" case as they differ between the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna Phase 3 trials. The J&J Phase 3 trial reported a lower efficacy number but their trial population and time of their trial was significantly different than the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna Phase 3 trials so direct comparisons are not valid.
The correct interpretation of the "95%" number is that your probability of contracting the virus if you are vaccinated and exposed to the virus is reduced by a factor of 20x when compared to someone who is not vaccinated and is exposed to the virus. There is no 5% who are going to get COVID even if they are vaccinated. Another results of the Phase 3 trials is that your probability of hospitalization and death is very remote if you are vaccinated.

The CEO is looking at all countries where the vaccine is used. We (in the US) got our shots a little later than, say, Israel which serves like a canary in a coal mine and the protective effect of the vaccine is starting to wane. They have already started the third shots for the very vulnerable.

How many hospitalizations? Cases mean nothing especially with the now CDC recalled PCR test. Still no explanation why vaccinated persons should mask up. It’s all about control. No real rise in cases in northeast. Blue states do it better? They get their surge in fall when people start heading indoors. If the sheeple let another lockdown occur the economy will look like Mexico, etc.

Though there is a difference in how cases are counted, it actually works out to be about 20x worse than a bad flu season.
Flu estimates (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2017-2018.htm)
CDC count of Covid Cases, 0-64, as of 7/22: 23.8M
CDC count of Covid deaths, 0-64, as of 7/17: 124,396

Sorry, but there is very little if anything accurate about that statement.
A "bad" flu season results in 65-70,000 deaths, mostly among those over 75 and under 2, and mostly because flu vaccines are nowhere near as effective as COVID vaccines. We have over 600,000 COVID "deaths", and while the count is most probably biased, even if it was only a third of that it is much worse than a "bad" flu season. I agree that there is some unreliability in the COVID test, especially in the vaccinated, but it is specific for the spike protein of COVID and therefore does not pick up seasonal flu.
And yes, some cases were picked up incidentally, but I would dispute the term "most"

There are NOT many, but enough to have a name for the situation - it is called "breakthroughs". It did NOT happen before the Delta variant, which has 1,000 times the viral load in SOME (small %) of asymptomatic VACCINATED people's noses. The greater viral load is WHY they can pass it on to the UNvaccinated - and the main reason WHY new CDC guidance ASKS ALL people to wear masks indoors. It mostly protects others.

I understand what "breakthrough cases" are. That is when a fully vaccinated person contracts the virus and becomes infected with Covid.
My other concern (after reading what another poster said) is that vaccinated people are getting reinfected with Covid. This, meaning to me, that a fully vaccinated person gets infected with Covid.....recovers then gets infected AGAIN for a second time. THIS is what I have not heard about. Is this really a thing?
