World of Beer had a sign up "closed due to criminal activity". Sheriff's Office was out in force on Powell Road looking for somebody. Don't know if related or not.

Charging 6 dollars for a Yuengling beer should be a crime

Only if they hold a gun to your head and force you to buy it

Love it! My only experience with WOB was a $7.00+ bottle of Beck's. Never been back.

So, all you wanna be comedians, did they deserve to be robbed?
You can vote with your pocketbook.
I feel bad for the workers.

World of Beer gets no more business from me. A couple of years ago, I ordered a nice craft beer to enjoy on the outside bar in the no smoking session. Some idiot decided he could smoke a cigar there and the bartender did NOTHING to stop this stink pot from continuing. What is the sense of having a no smoking section if the workers do not enforce it. I am sure the cigar smoker enjoyed his cigar. I had an awful time trying to enjoy a very expensive craft beer! So, that was the last time I would ever patronize that place.

What the actual heck does the cost of a beer in a restaurant have to do with their being robbed??? Way to derail a thread.

Police cars were on Buena Vista, too. We saw two police and a dog running from away from World of Beer. Wondered what was going on.

Apparently they had helicopters circling for a couple of hours and cops up and down Buena Vista south of 466A. Businesses in Brownwood shut down for a time and folks south of 44 heard gunshots around 1130 pm. Strange there has been no news even on the other unnamed site.

Well, lets see….police cars……dogs tracking…..on a wild guess I would say they got robbed. They certainly wouldnt bring out the troops for someone who didnt pay for their beer. So, you stay away from the area and when the cops clear the area, you can go back. Simple and easy

Many of normal police business activities are not reported. They're not reportable activities; The newspaper reporters aren't interested. Not to mention that if everybody was able to read about normal day and police work around here they'd be scared out of their minds.
Don't believe for a minute that what you read is the entirety of what these police officers are working on every day.

WOW, $6. for any beer is to much even if the business has to pay employees. We can buy a 6 pack of beer for$6.99 to $7.99. But then again you would never get out of your house. It just seem like $6. is a lot for 11 oz. of beer. Got off the subject a little, this so-called robbery had to be some young person outside the bubble.

You have to get outside of TV to get anything cheap & then you would have to ask locals about beer prices. Didn’t you hear about everything that went up, that includes BEER!

So many people want to know the answer to this question, and such happenings are a concern to all residents. I get tired of reading through a bunch of jokester comments to find some real information here. I would like to know why was this news basically blacked out? Don’t we have reporters any more? Why do citizens have to wait, worry, and wonder??? Why don’t you jokesters wake up and put some real though into this?

"blacked out?" Maybe there just wasn't anything significant to report. Do you really believe the "other" paper that doesn't miss a chance to find fault with TV would skip a juicy story?
"wait, worry, and wonder?" You don't have to wait, worry, or wonder. Get off the internet, go outside, and live your life. Don't wait, do it now. Don't worry, there's a lot going on. Don't wonder, stop by a square, a golf course, or a Rec Center and find out what's going on.

We were parked behind Babette’s Friday around 4:40-5:00. As we were getting into our car to leave, we saw two extremely seedy characters, one in particular was especially sweaty, dirty, disheveled and looked like he belonged in a crack house. He was so distracting I really didn’t notice much about the other person except they were loitering around an old car. My impression was they certainly didn’t look like workers or patrons. I took notice because there was really no one else walking around and so I felt a bit like we would be sitting ducks. I realize this is subjective and could be totally innocent. We’re from the big city so unsavory characters are not new to us. I also figure there are cameras probably everywhere in the squares but I could be wrong about that. And for what it’s worth, we enjoy WOB quite a bit. 😜 Heard there was a robbery in Brownwood last evening but have not seen anything in the news, anyone have info?

Maybe there is a legitimate reason why they are keeping this out of the news.
