Canceled a lease??

Probably meant didn't renew. Usually means they got a better offer.

Never went there. Sounds like it was a good place. Always sad for a good place to go away.

Where's Paul Harvey?

Indeed. I've missed Paul Harvey since the day of his last broadcast. Beside honest NEWS, he always included some "good news."

It was a fun place to have lunch or dinner and they served some good specials during the week. You can see people on the river and some nice wildlife. I presume the owner operator probably decided to retire. 35 years is a long time

If you listen to Mike Rowe's podcast he does a similar format to Harvey.....plus some interesting insights on other stuff including his QVC and Dirty Jobs days.

The Palm Garden Cabins are worth the visit. Only way to describe them is to see them.

We would go with other couples when the weather wasn't too hot, since it was outside on the water. Best way to describe it for me was if "Deliverance" had a restaurant, Palm Gardens would be it. Good burgers and sandwiches, and their boiled shrimp basket was excellent. Was told their Tuesday night steak night was a real bargain. When the our men's group played golf in the vicinity, we would stop for lunch, and all enjoyed. There would be boats tying up that would pass the lines to the diners to help tie them up. The place was well worn, but that's what made it fun. On weekends, the bar was full and the music was good.
