The mayor of DC reimposed a indoor mask mandate for everyone over the age of two yesterday, no exceptions, $1000 fine, effective yesterday July 31.
Here she is at a wedding reception she officiated, with hundreds of other maskless guests yesterday, July 31.

It looks like there were two different events - one occurring before the mandate went into effect, and the other after it went into effect.
According to several sites including one of the local DC fox news websites, she was maskless for the event on Friday which was some shindig for her birthday with Dave Chappell - and there was a wedding the next day, when people wore masks at the reception except when they were eating/drinking.
Perhaps the photo is of the previous night's events. The Examiner doesn't even mention who took the photo. Serious journalistic pieces always credit the photographer, unless it's "stock," in which case they state that it's stock.

It certainly looks to me like they are sitting and eating. And I don't see how one can eat with the mask on... but, I guess it can be done.
But, whatever, let's point fingers, call names, and yell at eat other while Americans are dying.

What do you mean? Sure they can! Last summer during the lock down the governor of CA suggested people eat while wearing a mask, pulling it up and down between bites of food. And then he was caught on camera mask-less, dining with lobbyists at a very expensive French restaurant in the Napa Valley.

Quoted: But in response to a report in the Washington Examiner that accused her of violating the mask mandate, Bowser’s office denied that she was breaking the rule. The event was mostly outside, where the mandate does not require people to be masked, and the mayor was unmasked inside while dining, Bowser’s office said in a statement.
The Examiner cited a picture of an unmasked Bowser seated at a table with glasses on it. It was not clear whether Bowser had just eaten or drunk something when the picture was taken.
“The mask mandate is for indoor settings (excluding while eating and drinking) and does not apply to outdoor settings,” the office said, while confirming that Bowser did officiate the wedding Saturday. “The Mayor wore a mask indoors in compliance with the mandate.”
Maybe yes, maybe no. She is “at a table” and likely still drinking something I would bet. Guess that was the only photo they could get that fit their story line?

What we have here is a world of people who only care about their world and themselves. I am vaccinated, wear my mask, (I find it annoying)…but I know one thing for sure. another example of the raging hypocrisy and lies of "one side of the spectrum." it's a daily thing. Can post TONS of posts about certain leaders who imposed draconian rules on their citizens but are photographed maskless all over the place. I think that's what the post is about - hypocrisy
whether not masking when you're demanding others do. Or hiring private security when you want to defund the Police...etc etc.

What I am getting tired of is all of the insanity, divisiveness and arguments surrounding this virus. Yes, people are dying, and people have been dying, and people will continue to die, everyday. Nothing that is said, especially on social media, is going to change anyone's mind regarding Covid procedures. Live and let live, or, live and let die. Actually this is false reporting. She mandated masks but they were not in effect when the wedding took place. I would not have been maskless but my guess is they were all vaccinated and the mandate was NOT yet in effect.

I can understand some people’s resistance to wearing masks. But please, if not for yourself would you consider extending consideration to people who know that if they become infected the consequences will be serious? Would you do so for a couple of weeks if a longtime neighbor or close friend asked?
If everyone would extend that kind of friendship and consideration even the new variant could be beaten down in the U.S.

The photo is from the reception, not her birthday the day before. Nobody has denied the photo is not real. Stop the deflection.

See that’s the problem. If you look at the most recent data, and take all the emotion out of it., yes COVID cases are up, but hospitalizations are only up slightly and deaths are not up at all. Here is an example of the hysteria being generated by the CDC. There are roughly 50 million students in the US. Since COVID hit about two hundred deaths have been recorded as Covid deaths in this demographic. When the head of the CDC was asked if any of these deaths were the result of other illnesses these kids may have had at the time she could not answer. Now we want all our kids to go back to school with masks, if they go back to school at all. We are destroying a generation of kids for the sake of political correctness. Unfortunately, instead of following the science and looking at the statistics the virus has been politicized and this is resulting in people having no trust in the DCD and reluctance to get vaccinated. What a shame.

You'll want to check that.
According to the WaPo Covid page (https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/national/coronavirus-us-cases-deaths/?itid=hp_hp-banner-low_web-gfx-death-tracker%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans), in the US daily cases are back to where they were in April and hospitalizations are very close to that (though Florida's are much higher). Deaths are still down but they lag cases by two to three weeks and have been growing in the last few days.
The low death numbers look promising at the moment but it might be better to wait a week or two before getting too excited.

Why didn't she mandate the shot????????????????????????
Because that is in violation of federal law 21 U.S. Code 360bbb-3(e)(1)(A)(ii)(III):
(III) of the option to accept or refuse administration of the product, of the consequences, if any, of refusing administration of the product, and of the alternatives to the product that are available and of their benefits and risks.
Personally, I think that of the 3 things mentioned here, there has been a pretty good effort in the last item (alternatives). However, I also personally believe (like many others) that the second item has been very biased and sensationalized in order to try to convince people to accept the mRNA gene. I would feel so much better if the numbers were simply unarguable, but they are not. "refusing the administration of the product" is continually being attacked in the media and from the CDC (Et al.). Hospitalizations are referenced constantly, while I don't personally recall hearing of one instance where a person got the COVID-19 delta variant and came out of it okay. This is not "balanced" reporting when 99% of those that get COVID-19 survive it! I just want to hear the TRUTH; if we even know what that word really means anymore. The very fact that I am NOT hearing the truth, makes me continue to be distrusting. I personally believe that this is the number one reason for those that have not yet received the vaccine to continue to refuse it. Why are we not hearing the truth? It is possible also that the truth is not yet known.
One more thing to add here... 21 U.S. Code 360bbb-3(c)(2)(B) also states:
(B)the known and potential benefits of the product, when used to diagnose, prevent, or treat such disease or condition, outweigh the known and potential risks of the product(...)"
I truly believe that our government knows that there are many people that have had adverse reactions to a single dose (not per protocol), but I believe that they DO also know that they need to have the COVID-19 vaccine for the greater majority of national protection. If that is true, then perhaps that justifies the biased representations of the media and other disease control representatives. From a national perspective, YOU NEED TO VACCINATE EVERY PERSON, AND QUICKLY. From a personal perspective, however, your choice to take an EXPERIMENTAL gene modification into your body CAN AND DOES IN SOME INSTANCES cause unseen complications to your life. This, I believe, is the basic conundrum of those remaining hesitant.
Personally, I could be convinced on either side of the "get vaccinated/don't get vaccinated" question, but if I can't see unbiased data, I can't make an informed decision.

Would you do so for a couple of weeks if a longtime neighbor or close friend asked?
If everyone would extend that kind of friendship and consideration even the new variant could be beaten down in the U.S.
Ok, my first question is if these “neighbors or close friends” have received their vaccine or are they the unvaccinated population? If they are then why is it my responsibility to protect them if they won’t protect themselves. I am vaccinated. I have read the CDC stats on the death rates in the US and they are primarily unvaccinated individuals or vaccinated individuals with underlying conditions. The chance of a vaccinated individual dying from Covid is .0006% which means that you have a 99.994% chance of surviving an infection. The chance of dying from an automobile accident is .0009% yet we all still drive cars
Now if you want to look at a real pandemic compare the Spanish flu of 1918 to today’s so-called pandemic
WORLD POPULATION
1918. 1,800,000,000
2021 7,850,000,000
CASES
1918. 500,000,000
2021 196,040,884
% of POPULATION INFECTED
1918. 27.8%
2021. 2.5%
% of WORLD POPULATION DEATHS from virus
1918. 2.78%
2021 0.054%
For Covid to equal the same number as the Spanish Flu:
There would have to be a total of 2,182,300,000 confirmed cases, currently there are only 196,040,884 cases. That means there would have to be an additional 1,986,259,116 cases to equal the percentage of the 1928-1920 pandemic
There would have to be 216,666,667 deaths, currently there are only 4,188,536 deaths. That means there would have to be an additional 212,478,131 deaths to equal the percentage of the 1918-1920 pandemic.
The world survived that devastating pandemic and I’m sure the world will survive this “pandemic”
And now we have the vaccine so all this crying wolf over this virus is getting old. People die everyday from something. If it’s my time then it’s my time but I’m going to live my life. I was concerned when it first was known back in 2020 but we have learned so much about it now. I for one am not afraid of it and am sick and tired of hearing about it

I know you feel you are doing the only thing that makes anything right in this world by wearing a mask to protect those who are not vaccinated. I commend you for your efforts.
Having said that, I refuse to mask to protect those who refuse to protect themselves. Sorry for those who cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons but it is up to THEM to protect themselves with a PROTECTIVE mask (N95 or equivalent) when they are out in public. I've done my part by being vaccinated and I have much less of a chance of becoming contagious and infecting anyone. I'M DONE wearing that mask but will abide by the wishes of any establishment that REQUIRES masking with a posted sign on their door. That is it for me.

I was responding to another poster on their comment that you can't eat with a mask on which is supposedly why no one was wearing a mask in that photo. I provided an example of the California governor last summer who wanted diners to wear masks and eat at the same time. Then he was caught without a mask at a dinner in a fancy restaurant. People don't like double standards and hypocrisy from those who have the power to control their lives.
