I ducked between rain drops this AM to retrieve a double bagged totally dry Daily Sun. Thanks to all who made this happen.
Hopefully other contributors to this particular thread could make it one of gratitude...maybe just this one time?

I think it was help if they tucked the opening of the first bag over to prevent water getting past the second bag.

Reminds me of when as a kid, I had a paper route. Two threads running at the same time about paper deliveries. One the complainers-the other one.
It was always the same people. I don't have the money, could you come back next week. Then no tip.

I had the same experience but told them would come back the next day. I had to pay for their paper by the end of the week and didnt want to be a creditor.
Even worse if they did not tip after doing this.

The newspaper folks do a better job of predicting rain than the meteorologists. If my paper is double bagged, you can bet on rain in the early morning! They do a great job!

I ABSOLUTELY need my morning paper with my cup of coffee. Been doing it for years. And Yes, I sincerely appreciate those that get up in the dark of morning to bag and deliver my paper. I have NEVER missed a delivery. That's dedication and I tip generously for this privilege.

OMG. Seriously? The paper delivery workers dont have the time to wrap n tuck the papers so not a single drop of moisture gets in. If they did, the next complaint would be the paper was 3 minutes late. We all, including me, have wondered why no one wants to work certain jobs and we critisize them for not accepting ANY job when theyre in need and instead live off our taxes. Here is the reason!! Lack of appreciation for the job they do in a job you would probably refuse to do

Totally agree, not just rainy days but everyday. Paper is always on driveway and we do not have to hunt for it. It’s the little things that make life easier.

What planet were you born on? When we were younger papers were delivered in every type of weather. That’s the nature of the job. Next you’re gonna suggest gold stars ? That’s why the Fen X Z and millennial generations are a bunch of pansies

Why is it that so many people complain about the simplest things in life. How about getting a life and just roll with it. There is so much anger out there now and it mostly seems to be focused on stuff that is trivial. We are complaining about wet newspapers, really!! I can only imagine the anger in your house when you actually read the paper. The carriers are doing this every morning for you and your response is to gripe. Wet or not, I am glad for getting my paper every morning thanks to those who start their day early and deliver it to me. Especially for an exceptionally reasonable yearly price.

My paper delivery person is a very good meteorologist. When The paper is double bagged I can count on it raining. My paper is usually in the driveway by 3 am. I like to get up early and read it with my cereal and juice.
