After doing a Lifestyle Preview several months ago and several weekend visits, we are taking the plunge! Since retirement for hubby isn't feasible until next year, we are not putting our home in South Florida up for sale just now. But we did find a home in Country Club Hills that we think will suit our needs perfectly at this time. We are going to try to come back and forth as much as possible and start enjoying everything. We are closing Thursday and looking forward to making new friends, and maybe even meet some of the cool people I feel I know on this forum. Finally, I do want to thank those who were so helpful when I posted questions recently.

Good Luck TerriG

We have 30 days to closing on our newly built home. Our condo is sold, the mover is coming Monday for a consultation, things are on the move.

We know you will love it here! Our home is in Silver Lake, so we are almost neighbors. Like you, we are 2.5 years from retirement, but we come over as often as we can from Texas!!:a040:

We were down in early September and my friends are closing on a lovely home in Liberty Park on Friday. I am putting my house on the market shortly and hope that someday I will be posting that I am on the way down. I am so happy for you. I am sure you will love it and that you will enjoy meeting all the great folks, especially the people of TOTV. I hope I will be going to Crisper's by this Spring. Good Luck!

Such good news that all of you will soon be part of this wonderful community.

Welcome, and may every day be filled with joy and sweet surprises!!

Pretty soon, a lovely person named PTurner will be on here to wish you the same.

She has been missing for a couple of days, but you are gonna like her to pieces.

We to visited on the Lifestyles and nearly 2 years later....we're here fulltime. At that time when we visited "retirement" wasn't even in our scope of reality but things changed quickly. We came down again, bought a house, then retired and moved here to try it out and quickly decided this is where we wanted to be. I think there are many just like us here with that happening to. You will have a ball and this is a great community to live in...if you're bored it's your own fault. Best wishes in settling in......

Hi, I am just starting my search at TV and surrounding developments. I take it Country Club Hills is not in TV? I know some of the advantages, but do you still have to pay association dues at TV to live off the Villages to use their facilities?
I have many questions about pre-owned homes, expenses, lawn maintenance, etc. at Country Club Hills. I would appreciate your in put.
Thanks, Mona from Ohio.

There's been a lot of discussion on what constitutes an "amenity" for TV purposes and, by definition, who is eligible to use said amenities.

The retail areas of TV (including the two Town Squares) are open to the general public. Anyone -- TV resident or not -- can shop and dine at any retailer. The hospital and medical facilities are also available to the general public and the VA Clinic is available to all Veterans, whether TV residents or not.

However, the golf courses, pools, tennis/pickleball courts, etc., are only for the use of TV residents and their guests. Guests are limited to 30 days maximum and a guest pass is required.

So if you decide to move to an area that is NOT part of TV, you can shop and dine there but the other facilities are off limits unless you are a guest.

Country Club Hills IS IN TV.

Indeed, it is part of what some of us call the "Prehistoric Section!"

That means, simply, that the portion of TV located on the eastern side of Highway 27/441 [that is, the villages of Country Club Hills, Orange Blossom Gardens and Silver Lake] are the earliest settlements here!

Wherever you settle, Welcome to The Villages and to TOTV!

whitecloud, here is a link to a simple map that shows all the villages in The Villages.

I hope it helps.

Hello Whitecloud,

If you go on www.thevillages.com, click on Homes, search "Pre-Owned Homes", on the Village field drop down menu, chose "Village of Country Club Hills" or whatever village you want to choose to see homes in. Right now the TV web site shows 30 listings in Country Club Hills. If you want to see homes in Country Club Hills that are not listed by a TV agent, then you would need to work with an agent that shows Multiple Listing Service listings.

l went to a couple of open houses in Country Club Hills during my first visit to TV this past July. This village is pretty close to Spanish Springs town center.

Good luck with your search.
