Since my doctor is approaching retirement. I am looking to find a primary physician.

My requirements are that he or she be a laid back easy to talk to type person and personality. I am also looking for a physician that lets me maintain my current medications that I have taken for many years.

So I am hopeful to receive some nice recommendations from my fellow villagers. Thanks in advance.

If your doctor is retiring, has he/she found a replacement, they may be just what you are looking for. In my limited experience, my previous doctors tried to do this to limit stress on existing patients.

I would imagine they would be looking to sell their practice.

He does have a new doctor but we dont see eye to eye, so that is why I am seeking someone that fits my requirements that I listed in my original post.

It is difficult to find a doctor. The best? What does that mean? Someone who agrees with you? Perhaps, you are wrong. Perhaps, it is someone with the proper personality, way of speaking who can disagree with you and not offend you.

Moving to the Villages was a bit of a shock. I was using the same internist (GP) as my parents had. I knew my sister and her daughter were using him as well. He was like a family friend. My sister and her daughter are like twins. I've separated all ties with both of them. It was bothering me. I mentioned it to my doctor. I didn't know, that they were doing the same thing to him. They left him.
He shouldn't have said it to me but he said he was glad to be rid of them.

Not an excuse but a doctor, medicare expects him or her to see 4 patients an hour.
People come to see a doctor because something is or they think is wrong. I could not do it

Here is a list I have assembled. It doesn't answer your questions. Think of it as a "map" with places to look. Good luck.
