Just in quick question for members of TOTV. For those that golf regularly, what equipment is in your bag? New? Fairly new? Old?
Give me your thoughts if you don't mind.

Are you asking what difference equipment makes? Plenty
If you are asking why you should answer? That’s up to you. On these things called forums, lots of discussions take place. TV in general has lots of golfers, some like golf equipment too.

What do you mean by "equipment?" Are you asking which clubs are in my bag? Or brand? Or do you mean what is in bag other than clubs?

WITB is commonly referred to the brand and models that are in the bag.

Why would you ask such a stupid question?
I think the more pertinent info is why would you ask such a stupid question?
Some golfers like equipment. Golf equipment is what I do for a living (I do not sell it). Asking golfers what types of clubs they play seems fairly mundane given the sheer amount of golfers on this forum. But based on the brilliant insight offered here, I honestly do not care what equipment you use : )

doesn't matter what's in everyone's bag probably wouldn't work for you. Get fitted and then you will have clubs that fit your swing Never ceases to amaze me how many people buy new clubs without getting fitted and wonder why they can't him them.

I have been fit and done fittings. It wasn't a question to compare vs what one should play. In fact it was a question about old, new, in between to see what type of equipment was being used in this area.
And one could make the case for and against fittings, based on swing repeatability as well as controlled vs uncontrolled environments. Example. Getting fit indoors, some golfers struggle indoors as well as the turf interaction being different. Getting fit outdoors remedies that, but changes to a range ball and the ball can and will have a huge impact in both launch and spin numbers.
So while I believe fitting is important, this doesn't impact the question in regards to the age of equipment/brands being used in the Villages.

Haha. It would probably be pretty tasty. Its actually part of the Srixon/Cleveland umbrella and they make higher end equipment specializing in moderate swing speeds.

I carry a 9, 11,and 13 wood and own a 15 wood. These are not hybrids. IMO, they are easier to hit than the 3-6 irons especially in the rough. I use the hole 18 program with a watch for distance to the pin.

Higher lofted fairway woods are becoming more common again. A 15 wood would be fun.

I had William Carson of Peninsula Driving Range in Hampton, Va. fit me with a set of Titleist AP1s before I moved here in 02/14. Still playing with them.
Have all 2014 Titleist's in my bag including driver, fw woods, irons and Scotty putter.

While I don’t believe I need lessons, shouldn’t at a recreation level one choose how they want to enjoy the game?
Although really for another topic for sure.

New. I replace my clubs about once a year.
Currently playing:
Driver: Callaway Epix Max LS with a custom fitted shaft
3 wood: Taylormade SimTI Rocket
4 wood: Cobra Speedzone
3-5 Hybrids: Cobra F9
6-GW Irons: Cobra Forged Tec One Length with graphite Recoil shafts
SW: Cobra King Mim One Length with graphite Recoil shaft
Putter: Odyssey Big Seven Stroke Lab armlock
The One Length have been an experiment. I love the shorter clubs, but don't have the swing speed for the longer irons. I had 3,4, and 5 irons, but didn't hit them much farther than the 6 iron (just lower and a little more roll). Pulled those and added in the hybrids which worked out very well. Still not sure yet, may go back to standard length irons next year.

I have PING G30 in NY bag with later model Mizuno irons and scotty cameron square back putter. I have PING G5 and old Daiwa irons (30+ yes ) and 40+ year old Ben Hogan sand wedge with Odyssey Rossie 2 putter which contributes to -23 short game handicaps. I am thinking about buying G425 driver but not sure it's going to help my driving because overall my old Florida bag has been performing equal or better.
Cheers!

Cheap irons, 3 thru 9, & 3 and 5 metal woods from a set that my nephew discarded, 2 wedges, driver, & hybrid 7 I bought from a thrift store for a buck each, and the last survivor from my first set of clubs, an old Northwestern persimmon 4 wood. I firmly believe my clubs should reflect my level of play, and they do.
