I am used to finding mail in my mailbox, and occasionally a key to a locker, but today I found a plastic rod with "See Carrier! Please knock on door" written on it.

I knocked on the door but there was no-one in the office; nor were opening times posted anywhere. What would be the best time of day to try again?

Thank you

carriers seem to vary a bit, mine are there in late morning. I can always catch 'em at noon. "Your mileage may vary"

It would appear that the package would not fit in the bigger containers and carrier did not want to go to your house.

When we got one the carrier put on a note with the time to see him. Was a half hour late but we did get our package.

Ask neighbors what time carrier come to deliver the mail.

Isn't great now that Amazon is doing home delivery! No more mail box packages. Love that blue van!

My advice is to wait until they come for you. Don't worry it won't be long.

Thank you for your suggestions.

It is odd because I haven't ordered anything - maybe I've won a car?

Sometimes it just means that the lockers are all used up.

When you see the mail truck out front. They are in there putting up mail.

At Valle Verde the mail person does not show up in a mail truck. She drives a car. Just FYI. Usually there late morning or early afternoon.

When the postal truck/van is in the parking lot. They don't have an office in there, it's just the walkway where they put mail in the slots, have bins for mistaken addresses/names, and place packages that don't fit n the bigger boxes on the floor. If you don't see their truck, then they're not there.

If I’m not mistaken, it doubles as a bathroom key.

Sometimes the mail carrier needs a signature for a registered letter or package. For instance, some mail order prescriptions require signatures.

At two postal stations near me, the postal workers arrive in private vehicles and always park their cars with the backs toward the curb. That means they are there and they have always answered my door knocks.

Put a note in your box with phone number. Ask to be called to pick it up.

Good suggestion, thank you

I went there at 8.30am today and all locked up. I have seen mail being delivered around noon so I suspect 12-1 would be a good time.

Our Postal station uses a half a yardstick that says see the postal-person. They were for boxes larger than would fit in the regular boxes. Our postal lady is generally there from around 11 am -3 pm. Look for the USPS vehicle at your station.

When you knock on the door, introduce yourself, and make a new friend!!!
