not pay one dime toward hearing aids, but will gladly pay for Viagra and all the clones of viagra.
Is it more medically necessary to be able to have sex than to be able to hear?

Maybe because hearing aids are overpriced and Viagra is just high priced.

Not really sure BTK -
Could it be that Medicare and other Insurance companies have decided that it's better for your health to go for a ride, than to sit on a bench listening to the wind blowing through the trees . . . . ???:kiss::kiss:

You have a right to complain, but Medicare does pay 500 dollars or around that:boxing2:, but the hearing aids are usually 2K an EAR! I think that is awful, you can buy a flat screen TV for less.:(

I paid about 4K per ear and when one stopped working after warranty it had to be sent to the manufacture for repair. They told me the entire inside had to be replaced and it cost $300. Now can you imagine what kind of profit they are making on a hearing aid they sell for $4,000 when the entire workings can be replaced for $300? I had a friend who used to be in the optical business and told me the frames I paid $150 for probably cost them $20.

Since Medicare and my BCBS Insurances don't pay for Viagra, I have to wonder about the source of your information.
Something you got in an email, maybe?:jester:

This is what I was told. Hearing aids are not medical corrections to a problem. They are an assistance to improve the hearing by magnifying sounds.
It is the same with glasses. If you get glasses, some insurance companies offer a discount plan that can usually be beat by the ads in the paper. If you go for cataract surgery they pay the whole boat (or a percentage) because it is a medical improvement.
When I went for hearing aids I was told that VA will usually give a discount but I am not VA.
Hope this helps.

Maybe Medicare is concerned that someone will be able to hear all the moaning, groaning and screaming when someone is using Viagra and give themselves a heart attack

WHAT?
Only Kidding.
They also don't cover dental. Hearing aides, glasses to some extent and dental are not covered. Could it be they figured out that is what most seniors need for routine care? I may be wrong but i was just wondering.
