Husband called the other day to schedule service and minor repairs for our cart. Answering machine told him to leave a message. Three days later, no response so he drove to Brownwood today to schedule in person. Our appointment is September 28. Ridiculous.

My cart has a five year warranty, so I have to go to Villages Golf Carts. I always make my appointment in person. I can never get anyone on the phone. You may want to try doing this.

they are overwhelmed with demand as compared to their capacity. it's not like a car dealership. You might look into other repair services including the ones that will come to your house, warranty or not. if it's that critical.

by the way, I have the same problem with scheduling my doctors - they are full up way in advance. It's pure supply and demand. I don't consider my doctors incompetent because their calendars are full

So, if its ridiculous, why didnt you go to another location? You cant blame a company for lousy service and then keep patronizing them

Warranty for golf cart is like a car warranty, you don't have to go to the dealership for work. Just keep your receipt...

Did you buy your golf car from them? They do give priority to those who purchase from them. I have not had the problem you describe. I called them last week because my cart was making a squealing noise. They got me in the next day, and replaced the secondary clutch and drive belt (warranty) while I waited. I cannot ask for more than that. This was at the Magnolia Plaza shop.

There are many other reliable golf cart technicians that will come to your house. PS these other guys are much better techs. Personally I would never have my cart serviced by the villages golf carts

so by coincidence, I ran into the guy from Village Carts that sold me mine and I asked him about service. He said, if you bought from us, basic service is a 4-6 week wait due to demand. however, if your cart is inoperable/emergency situation that they will get you right in. if you don't buy from them, you get behind those that have in the queue

So what? Have a mobile tech do your work then.

Complaining here isn’t going to change anything.

I think the complaint is that they didn’t return the call. Which is rude.
These businesses are overwhelmed and have do not have enough help.

The TV Golf Cart Stores service over 150 carts a day in their stores. If you bought your cart from them and are having mechanical issues they get you right in. Regular maintenance becomes scheduled so on your date they can get you in and out. Their system works great!

Im fairly new here, so forgive me, but I do not understand this post.

This person started a thread that a Villages owned property where she purchased goods from never returned her call for service.

And that service is backed up for quite a while.

Is sharing that information not allowed? Seems like it is pretty pertinent to those of us looking at where to do business with.

Had the same experience. Unfortunately for me, the custom club car cart I have is not something others can or will service. I think like a lot of businesses, they cannot find good help.

So you think it not in best interest for people that have carts that are still under warranty to use say, Henry, Willies, or Todd Casey? Yamaha warrantied parts for my cart repaired by Mobil Golf Carts.

BTW - I have the same scheduling problem with my boyfriend when it comes to @@@. He also states that he has a scheduling problem as he is filled-up for the next month. He also states, its supply and demand.

I told him then I'm taking my business to another caring man who can fit me in. Problem solved!

Car dealerships require the car is serviced by a mechanic certified for that specific make of car. If not the warranty is usually voided and the resale value may be dropped. Might be the same for golf carts.

DURING THE PERIOD OF WARRANTY, any authorized Yamaha golf car service technician, dealer will, free of charge, repair or replace, at Yamaha’s option, any part adjudged defective by Yamaha due to faulty workmanship or material from the factory

No, that is not true. You are free to do your own maintenance and non-warranty repair work, or have an independent mechanic do the work, and you will maintain your factory warranty. You, of course, need to keep records and receipts and use the correct parts. For example, if you do your own oil changes, you need to use oil with the correct weight and API rating. This is covered under the Magnuson-Moss Law. If the needed repair is a factory warranty issue, you should take it back to the dealer, obviously, because they will pay for it.

They also take a few “walk ins” each day, about 5 or so, first come first served when they open.
Appointments are convenient but if you get there when they open they will give you a loaner and call you when yours is done.
The 2 times I did this they called before I even got back home.

And "The Villages Golf Cars" will tell you that "service" is a reason to buy from them. NOT TRUE. Also, their price for new golf cars is over $1,000 higher than either of the other two Yamaha dealers in the area.

We just bought a new cart, but not from TV. I have a question, are any of the people noted Authorized Yamaha Technicians? I don't want to void my warranty!

They obviously are very successful with almost everyone here owning one or two golf carts. They do a good job and they will either expand or their competition will get the business.

If you pay $1,000 MORE than other dealers, you should EXPECT good service.

We bought our cart from The Villages for several reasons. Mainly it was convenient. But getting a loaner when you need service is a great perk.

And there are some great guys there too. We were at Brownwood and the battery in our car (not cart) died over by MVP. I walked to the Cart Store to see if they had a rolling battery like some shops did. One of the sales guys asked where we were parked. He then said he would meet us there. He came over in his personal pickup truck and gave us a jump start. This I consider to be above and beyond. He could have just as easily told us that they don't do that kind of thing.

Most posters I have seen since moving here regarding golf carts was that person(s) who bought cart from them, bought cart due to location and service. People admitted to paying more for this "service". Old saying, you pay for what you get, no longer applies.

Bought my cart in Webster for $2k less. Now even more glad that I did not patronize The VIllages Golf Carts.
