I was hoping they would just go ahead and name Mayim Bialik, since she was already named for the College championship. Guess not.

I didn't like her. I haven't followed her like a lot of my friends have on her nerd series. I didn't like how she dressed....( I know, right??) No one on Jeopardy is up to date as dressers....One host anchor was...I really loved Robin...whatshername. She dressed very well and was so quick and warm too.
Alex Trebek reruns were on ....what's that about???? I want to see that kid from Medina, Ohio win a million bucks and buy himself a nice house............

we have not watched Jeopardy since Alex's passing. And probably now, will not start. Can only imagine the backstage happenings the last week or so.... I would bet good $$$ that the 'permanent new host' will pass all of the P.C. background tests. If that is the case, J-watching is once again out. The many months 'testing' of the try-out hosts was unwatchable for us. Now, the search for a pristine, non-controversial, and no doubt...the correct 'class' continues... nope.

Well…… lol….. there’s an entire wardrobe department that dresses the hosts. She doesn’t pick her wardrobe. Also, i never watched that series either but remember her from her own series called Blossom in the early 90’s. :a040:

He was a great pitcher some years back. Hope he is up to it.
This new guy who had to quit didn't follow the leadership of the last few Supreme Court justices .ratings would be sky high on the first few shows as he apologizes for something he did in the past.

Apparently he said some rather upsetting things in a podcast he used to do.
One would have thought they would have very carefully vetted Mike Richards before giving him the job.
Now they have to have him as host for about a weeks worth of shows he already hosted and than back to more guest hosts.

Lots of decent people "back then" were offended by disparaging remarks toward Jews, women & Asians (which Richards did). I'm personally very pleased that it's not as acceptable now, as it used to be. At least he's apologized, unlike so many others.

Also, I really don't understand how such a high-profile position, with that much money on the line and they didn't vet him better. It sometimes amazes me how stupid people are,

Since there’s no one free of sin, names will continue to be checked off until the “correct” person is announced. Then, when that person’s sins are uncovered, he/she will be forgiven because he/she will have all the appropriate boxes checked and to oppose him/her would be, well, you know. 🙄

Omg, this guy is so loaded he can just toss money into the ocean and not miss it. Why don’t you all get behind someone actually deserving of a game show host position? Like a former contestant who could use this opportunity. Or someone who’s done game shows? Why do you want to make the super wealthy even wealthier? In his role as “Jeopardy” producer, which he will continue, Richards has a reported net worth of $6 million…….And that’s only from Jeopardy. He’s also a producer on Wheel of Fortune so he’s making the same money over there.

It’s her I know it all because I’m a neuroscientist- which if you don’t use it that’s not what you are - Robin Roberts will push social issues and most of the hosts didn’t have a connection with the audience.

Absolutely, positively the LAST THING I want to see on Jeopardy. It's a great game show, not an editorial page. Just as bad as that sportscaster making political statement on Monday Night Football. She can make all her stupid social comments on her ultra liberal morning show, but leave the entertainment sector alone. I vote a big NO on Robin Roberts.

It wasn't 30 years go, it was 7 years ago. Richards' crude comments about women and Jews made on his podcast four years AFTER sexual harassment lawsuits were brought against him. Richards stepped down because, as the producer, he doesn't want to lose a single watcher. He wasn't the best choice anyway. Mayim Bialik was, but couldn't be fulltime host, because of her schedule. The other best choice is LeVar Burton. I hope they pick him.

What does how she dressed have to do with it? That's a horrible (as well as sexist) criteria in evaluating the host! Mayim was very comfortable in reading the questions, personable, and was the best of the guest hosts!
As far as the reruns go, they are just starting to film the shows for next season. That's what it's about - duh!

Mike Richards' comments weren't something merely overheard in a private conversation or picked up by a random cell phone. They were on a podcast, intended to he heard by the masses. Comments like his show one's true colors, and I'm very surprised that he's even remaining with the show.

Don’t know but back then it probably wouldn’t have offended anyone; nowadays crybabies are offended by any little thing….
During 2013-2014, he called his podcast co-host and former assistant a "booth ho" and a "booth slut". Called her friends "frumpy and overweight". When she said "no one's overweight", he said "They look fat and not good in the picture. It's bad".
He made multiple offensive comments about women, Jews, little people, people with mental disabilities, etc.
It wasn't long ago that he did this, so he has no excuses for this abhorrent behavior!

He apparently had a fairly long history of such comments, so good riddance.
But the reply of "no one's overweight" may be the most idiotic statement in history

Maybe they should just "cancel" Jeopardy itself? Let it die with Alex Trebek. Everything has a shelf life and perhaps this show was past its due date. They could always devise a similar show and call it something different, have a different format, etc. I think this host search thing denigrates the show and is pathetic, quite frankly.

And i couldn’t agree more! It’s exactly about finding the right person to host. I guess, if the guy in charge of the show thinks he’s the best person for the job, then we’d all be out of lots of jobs. PS. What would make you think that? Just because he is the producer of a game show does make him dictator of the ABC network. Bill O'Reilly was the producer of his show----where's he?---Maybe he "fired" himself. Bill Ayers was producer of Fox news. Did he also "fire" himself? If the network wants you out, you're out, producer or not.
