Scammers on totv classifieds

When selling on our site. Be very cautious of buyers wanting to :
1) telling you they need to send you a verification number. This is bogus.
2) they will ask you to take down the ad because they will buy it. And they will send you a check for the item and shipping. The check will be way more than u asked.
Don’t cash it. They want you to cash it. And somehow they can get your info.

Not sure what you experienced. Scams are not at all new. As far as a check. If, you deposit a check and it bounces your bank will charge you roughly $20 and remove the amount of the check from your account. There is some sort of law that a Florida check must clear in two days and an out of state check I think is a week. Personal experience. I had an out of state check. Law it need to clear in a week. Ten days after I deposited it the company stopped payment on it-THAT IS ILLEGAL. The bank, yes in the Villages wanted to charge me all kinds of fees-clearly none of it was my fault. I had to take my time and straighten it out NO I DID NOT PAY THE FEES.
