Anyone have suggestions or idea for furniture for my Lanai? Do you find you get a lot of water in there? Most of what I have seen is the wicker furniture, and they are okay but I don't really love them so looking for some ideas on something else. I am okay moving cushions inside but do not want to have to move any furniture inside.

All ideas and suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

Google Berlin Gardens outdoor furniture. Very good warranty durable all types of weather and fun colors. Like this particular brand because not as many visible screws as some recycled materials furniture. It's been our go to outdoor furniture for years.

Furniture depends on, how big is your lanai, is it enclosed or just screen in and what would you like to do there?

Lanai is 14'4" x 8'4". It is screened in and I would like to be able to sit out there and enjoy the weather when not too hot. Might even install a TV on the wall of the house.

For outdoor furniture cushions, I have had good luck with Sunbrella brand fabric not fading. But there might be other fabric brands now that do just as well. Sunbrella brand has been around for a long time.

As far as furniture goes, that wicker-esque stuff seems almost indestructible. It can be a practical choice. No maintenance required.

I have a table with chairs that have wooden arm pieces — and I never quite got around to putting some kind of stain on them and now those handles are a dingy gray. (Ug, but I will keep them anyway. I like the set. The chairs swivel and rock and do not have cushions, just that sturdy, tightly woven stuff that dries fast.)

Have fun shopping. It is all so pretty.

Screen lanais can get pretty wet and they do get VERY dirty. I don't know why, but our outdoors is always needing to be cleaned.

I love to look at pictures of just what you are looking for. Do not overlook the furniture sold at Home Depot and Lowes, although this is the end of season for a lot of it. And also true of Walmart. They have enormous buying power to get good things and good prices.

Anyway, I love when people are going to decorate. Hope you find just the thing. What colors will you use in your home?

I used Costco as they have good return policy if you don’t like what they send you. 2 wicker-like, mold resistant, reclinable chairs with pull out stools and Sunbrella fabric for cushions which is also used for golf carts in the rain, a matching wicker table. I have a glass stand for the 43” tv which is portable so I can take it inside (by myself) if it rains too much.

We went to all of the local outdoor furniture stores (Leisure Living, Coral Casual, Palm Casual) but we ended up buying everything at Perfect Porch.

We have a lot of furniture (4 rocking lounge chairs with padded seats, 4 foot stools, 2 metal tables, and a table with four chairs) and they were all made by a company Windward Designs. We also have two rocking lounge chairs and two footstools and one table on a patio in front of our house, and two wicker chairs inside of our house.

We got this outdoor furniture five years ago and we love it.

We looked at a lot of places and found the best selections at palm casual factory store. Great fabric selection. Good warranty & customer service. They deliver to tv on a regular basis.

True! Plenty of dust, pollen and moisture blows right through those screens and onto your furniture. Best way to enjoy your lanai year round is to have sliders or windows with screens. It can be expensive to do this but it will give you year-round living space in the brightest area of your house.

HDPE "Amish" furniture. You can buy much of this on line. No need to buy locally unless you want to.

As I add it up we've got over 3,500.00 Worth of this stuff. Since the 'lumber' is made at one of two plants in the US it all matches.

The Adirondack chairs available from Costco on line for 169.00 are a great start. Amazon has Pollywood brand or buy directly from them. RJ Gators outdoor patio sets are Pollywood brand. They sell sofas as well, at Pollywood.

Agree with Palm Casual, short drive to Winter Garden right off tollway. Family owned, guaranteed for life: they make the sunbrella cushions to order. They also carry Gensun cast aluminum furniture; very durable and powder coated that looks like cast iron. I had a dining set up north that looked like brand new after 6 midwest winters. Now if someone has a better way to keep the lizards off my cushions......

I’m training my lizards too. If near the door they dash in and then I can’t find them and they never seem to find their way out and so they die. When they are near the back or front doors I gently fan them away about 3 times per lizard and they’re gone. Need to repeat with new ones. If you set a rotating fan on your lanai, I wonder if they’d still come in.

We were very excited about palm Casual .. and like to give business to family owned businesses. Unfortunately, we just returned most of the pieces of our half filled order. It appears that the employment and supply chain issues have really impacted them, in addition to their lack of computerization. After several months of waiting, we had a very partial order delivered.. unfortunately with just a couple of cushions, making the delivery close to useless. Then, after many phone calls, all having to start from ground zero, we got a couple of horrendous looking loan cushions. The initial order of frames was also incorrect, and the delivery of more cushionless incorrect frames loaded up our patio like a junkyard. When at least the table and chair order was complete (after we volunteered to pick up the remaining pieces before they were lost), we indicated that we were no longer willing to wait for the rest of the order to be complete. Everyone was friendly, but the lack of organization and communication was too frustrating to continue. So be prepared if you order from there.

Sunbrella material supposedly cannot fade since the color is imbedded in the fabric. Think of Sunbrella like a carrot with color throughout as opposed to a beet.

Furniture material - Wood will require maintenance, steel will eventually rust. Need something poly-coated. For durability , pay the price.

Moving cushions in is not practical over time. They may be covered with pollen which you don't want in the house. Rain happens when you don't expect it.

Check out Palm Casual Furniture in Oakland, FL. You see their billboards along the Turnpike on the way to Orlando. Purchased several metal framed fabric chairs, fire pit, and tables. Very happy with the quality and durability.

Thanks,

I would suggest an internet search. Our lanai is screened, temperature varies depending on time of day, out side temperature and time of year. As to wet not normally but in a hurricane picture rain like coming from a hose, the wind blows the rain horizontally.

I have some antique real wrought iron pieces that I paid to have professionally stripped and spray painted. They are heavy and durable. I state real wrought iron. It is not made any longer. Wrought iron is mostly rust proof. What is sold today is actually steel that has been painted. We have bought some of the knock down cast aluminum stuff.
It is OK. We've had it for 9-10 years. It is sort of I wanna be cast iron but they were too cheap to find and buy the real thing.

We went to Costco and found a nice metal frame set with fabric cushions. When we leave in April we bring in cushions and just cover the frames.

We got a nice 4 piece set from Plow & Hearth (.com). (2 chairs, love seat and coffee table). It's tight on our villa...probably could have gotten by with not getting one of the arm chairs, but we make it work. We also got their heavy canvas furniture covers that we put on when bad storms are coming in. Total package was around $1,100. Comes unassembled and took me about 2 hours.
Made from a Brazilian wood that stands up to the weather, and 6" thick cushions. We love it.

We bought our house w this set. It’s virtually indestructible! And very heavy. I’m ordering new cushions for it from them.

Another vote for The Perfect Porch. I have purchased furniture there twice. Very satisfied. They are very knowledgeable as to size and types of furniture and can direct you to what will fit your space.

That would never fit in her lanai.

I have a lanai just slightly bigger than hers.
We have a set from Home Depot for $700. Consists almost the same as yours. It's heavy duty plastic that looks like wicker. 2 chairs love seat and coffee table. Had it on our lanai for about 7 years and still looks great. I put manual roll up shade curtains that really keeps the sun and rain out.

We bought our place over 12 years ago. The lanai was just screened. I cleaned it once and said, never again"! My husband said let's close it in with sliding windows, and we did. It was the best decision we ever made and the second best decision was to buy vinyl wicker with Sunbrella covered cushions. We could sit out in every season and be comfortable. And when I moved a month ago the vinyl wicker still looked like new.
