I'm officially confused.......

This morning on The Villages TV channel 2 (Xfinity line up), I saw a segment which the news person said was from September 3rd. She was at the grand opening of a new Publix and she said it was located in Magnolia Plaza. I KNOW I have been to the Publix in Magnolia Plaza at least 4 months ago. The text on the screen said "Monarch Grove". So........is there a brand new Publix in Monarch Grove? This new Publix has a large area for dining with several tables which I don't recall seeing in the Publix in Magnolia Plaza.

I haven’t watched that video, but the table area is upstairs over the front entrance. If you turn left after coming through the doors you will see how to get up there.

If you turn right at the light you go to Magnolia Plaza Publix, if you turn left you go to Monarch Grove and McClure.

Right across from the 501 entrance to Monarch Grove on the west side of 501 abutting homes in McClure there was a 20 acre parcel zoned commercial for sale by owner for $6,000,000.00 advertised on a big sign. I believe I saw that it sold and wonder what will go in there, there is or was for sale an additional 20 acres right next to it on the southern border. 40 acres could handle some nice sized stores.

I know that a few days ago Channel 2 was showing some previously aired reports from earlier this year. This might have been one of them. The Publix in Magnolia Plaza is the latest one built. There's a dining area upstairs.

Thanks. I'm still a bit confused as to why The Villages TV channel was reporting that there was a Publix "grand opening" with people lining up at 3:00 in the morning on September 3rd. Hasn't the Publix in Magnolia Plaza been open for at least 4 months now?

Thank you, thank you. I said to my husband that the segment we saw a couple days ago must have been an old story from when the Magnolia Plaza Publix had their grand opening 4 months ago. Mystery solved.

Thank you again.

The diocese of Orlando purchased land around there to build a new Catholic Church. St Vincent De Paul church which is now the largest church in TV is bursting at the seams and is less convenient for those in the South. Probably won’t go in for another few years. Not sure if the 40 acres you are asking about is the exact location.
