After the drone strike, the headlines announced:

U.S. drone strike kills ‘multiple suicide bombers’ in Afghanistan, officials say

General Miley deemed it a "righteous strike"

But they never actually named the supposed Isis K "planners" killed in the strike.

The New York Times investigated and tell a different story. They killed a US Aid worker and 9 other innocent people including 3 children.

The New York Times and Washington Post say the strike the US said targeted an Islamic State operative actually killed an aid worker on daily duties in Kabul.

They gave authority to use the drone strikes to "lower Level" commanders who were probably anxious to avenge the killing of Marines at the airport entrance. The fog of war may not apply in this case.

Appears this went all the way up the CENTCOM chain of command. Not the fault of the grunt who pushed the button. Generals need to be held accountable.

Nonsense. Overseas drone strikes require approval of "the big guy"

Correction to OP. It was 9 members of the aid worker's family killed in the strike, including his 7 children,

Imagine if your average american ran over and killed a family of ten in a crosswalk. Then tells the judge and jury that they were terrorists, and their suicide vests all detonated.

The needle or life behind bars at least.

Funny how military works when reporting to career politicians, no career politicians want to here bad news. So what happens in the trenches at lowest level incidence hardly even gets reported correctly to high levels. It goes through several layers of supervision and management all putting there twist on it so they look good for promotions.

Remember the thirteen U.S. troops killed a few days before because the Taliban “guarding” the road to the airport allowed a suicide bomber to get past their checkpoints? Remember the “credible threat” that another bomb was about to be set off? Was there immense pressure to keep that from happening? Did the guy in the car look highly suspicious to people watching on satellite or drone images? Yes! Is there a lag time between when the order to strike is given and when the drone hits? Yes. Would you rather that the guy who gave the order hesitate until after another bomb had gone off? Are you glad the hit was made in an enclosed courtyard instead of on a busy street where hundreds might have been killed? I’m sorry the kids died, but so did those 13 troops. Go complain to their families! Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, right? Don’t try to politicize this. I think the right decision was made.

You saw a gas tank explode. Even a moron could see that the car was not loaded with explosives because the wall 2 feet from the car is still standing.

The car was parked in the aid worker's home after his day of running errands, bringing water etc. Which is why 7 children died.

Well, I say to bring back the non-volunteer military by some "luck of the draw" methods. I worry that the all-volunteer force could turn on US citizens. And fix the leaders in Wa. by having term limits - return to citizen government. Also 6-year terms for the Supreme Court. And change the name to something less dictator-sounding.

Someone has the footage from drone itself, and they people on the ground have an idea. There are still reporters in Afghanistan, just not US military….not sure if all NATO military and/or embassies have left on not. That would be interesting to know, as it’s reported they have over 1000 people behind enemy lines.
