Does anyone know if there is currently a therapy dog program here in The Villages?
Look how it helps others:

One therapy program offered with Dogs is the Reading PAWS Program. The Dynamic Dogs Club has information on the AKC Cannie Good Citizen program which all therapy dogs must meet, and other dog therapy programs. I believe The club meets the last wedneday of every month 4-6 at Laurel Mannor Rec Cneter (No Dogs).
For Club information suggest you all Sharon Starke at 259-8021
For the Reading PAWS Program you can contact Howard Horwitz at hhorwitz05@embarqmail.com. Reading Paws also has a web site at READingPAWS.org
If you want to learn how to get your dog certified as a therapy dog go to therapydogs.com

There is a very active Therapy Dog and READing Paws program in the Villages. Over 45 Teams in the Therapy Program and 20 in the READing Paws Program. Contrary to belief the CGC is not a pre-requirement for Therapy Designation! I have been a Tester/Observer for the National Therapy Dog Program for two years and am the co-ordinator for the READing Paws Program here in the Villages. Please don't hesitate to contact me at howard@readingpaws.org for information on either program.
