I'm looking for a company to perform service on my Golf Cart in the friendly confines of my driveway. Taking it to the Villages Carts is a long day chore.

If you have had experience with a company and don't mind sharing, I would appreciate your recommendations

Willies golf cart service.
1 (352) 255-1369

Friendly, knowledgeable and reasonable pricing.

They move it out to the street instead of servicing on your driveway.

I've been using Willie's for ten years except last December when he having surgery. Willie was always $70, but I didn't know how long he was going to be closed, so I called Todd Casey because of all the recommendations on TOTV, but he charged $112. I guess Todd doesn't need to be competitive, I think TV only charges $70 and Tire Choice is $60.

That's right, you can also go to Tire Choice at Colony Shopping Center, I used them once about five years ago when Willie wasn't available, and they were $50, I think they are now $60. No appointment necessary, just drive your cart in and it will be ready in about an hour.

Here's another thread from May, you can always get quicker replies by doing doing a search, button is at the top.

you might provide what those prices include(ie:oil change, belt change, new battery, new tires, fix flat, starter, electronics, etc.). They don't include all that do they. Or is it for just showing up. Specifics mean everything in that business.

Try The Villages Discount Golf Cars (not the same as The Villages Golf Cars). They don't have a shop per se; what they have is a "cartiologist" who will come to your home and perform the service. Not cheap, not terribly expensive either.

One possible fly in the ointment: we bought our golf car from them. I don't know if you have to buy a cart from them in order to get service from them or not. Wouldn't hurt to ask them though.

From what I saw, Tire Choice did the most. They actually rotated the tires and lubed, checked the pressure, changed the oil & filter and spark plug. They're now $60 and no appointment necessary. Willie will do all that, but I don't remember him rotating the tires. Willie will even drive the cart up and down the street to make sure it's running good, he was only $70. Todd Casey did the least. I went in the house and came back out in about 15 minutes and he said, all done. He was also $112, the highest of all of them, I'll never call Todd Casey again. The Villages I have never used in 10 years even though I bought the cart there.

Around 2014 when the Marathon station opened on 466A I decided to try the ethanol free gas (recreation on the pump), I had been using regular the first three years. Next trip after filling up, I went about 5 miles to Belle Glade and played 18 holes. After pulling out of the golf course onto Moyer the cart died. I could only have it go if I held the choke open the entire time and drive no faster than 4 mph.

I called Willie when I got home and he came the next day. He said the good clean gas had loosened up all the ethanol crud that had built up in the carburetor and fuel lines and blocked them. He said he flushed everything out and the cart runs good now. I've kept using the recreation gas ever since. No problems with the cart in ten years, it seems to run better and better MPG. I use just a 5 gallon can, and the last two times I got the ethanol free gas at the Circle K across the street in Trailwinds, they're cheaper than Marathon.

As per the battery, I'm on my third. After 4-1/2 years I had Willie bring me a battery, he installed and disposed of the old one, but it was $130. Last summer I changed again after 4-1/2 years. This time I went to Rural King on 27 in Leesburg in the shopping center just before the split with 441. The guy in the battery department knew nothing. I knew to get a 24F, it was only $54.99 plus tax, about $62 out the door. Installed myself, on the Drive carts it's very easy to do, battery link below.

Call Wildwood Tire (totv advertiser). They will pick up your cart, service it, and return the same day. Reasonable service price, nothing extra for the pickup.

I do not claim to be an expert. But, I do wonder. A golfcart, it is a 12 hp air cooled engine.
I holds a quart of oil. My opinions. Do you need a new spark plug every year-I don't think so. Do you need a new air filter every year-depends how dusty it is where you chose to run it. Easy to look at it. Do you need a filter-perhaps not. Replace the belts every year? Do you replace the belts in your car every year?
As far as alcohol free fuel an endless debate. The 10% alcohol in gasoline for cars does not really make sense it is a farm subsidy that like most things will not go away. Alcohol actually has less potential energy per gallon than does gasoline and it is more expensive per gallon than is gasoline. That is not reflected in the pump price for the alcohol free fuels offered for sale. Alcohol easily mixes with water and can absorb water from our humid air. My OPINION for those who store their golf cart for months on end, I would add one of the marine grade stabilizers to a full tank of gas before putting your golf cart into storage. I would use the one that says for fuel with alcohol
Our golf cart, is EFI it is ten years old. I use regular automobile fuel, the one with alcohol in it. The difference between gasolines is the detergent package added at the end. Till it gets to the tank farm it all travels in the same pipes so it is the same. I use one brand of gas-SHELL. They have one of the best detergent packages. We signed up a while ago and have a card that gets us is discount from pump price and we get discount prepaid cards from our credit card points and from out grocery store.

Mike, The Cart Fixer. (352) 433-5411.
He saved me over $1100 from what The Villages was going to charge me. Very honest, knows his stuff, and has most everything on his truck including tires, clutches, etc.

We have used Willie's Golf Cart Service for over 10 years. He was recommended by the place we bought our cart (outside the bubble). He has even come to parking lots when we had a problem and one time trailored our cart back to our house while he ordered a part and then came to the house and installed it.
