I have a courtyard villa and need to know where the valve is located to shut off water to the entire house. Thanks in advance for info.

I do not know but at my house the shut off is outside. Look for a round green cap. Probably 5 or 6 inches in diameter. Probably within a foot of your foundation.

Most likely, there is a plastic access panel on the back wall of your garage. The shut off valve is located behind the panel.

Note that the plastic access panel will be about 12 inches by 12 inches and will be located near the floor. You may need a screwdriver to pry it off. If so, I would suggest that you not snap it back into place, but tape it partially open, so that you can easily get it off if you have an emergency leak.

I just shut it off at the meter in the front yard. Pop the access panel close to the curb and use a crescent wrench to turn the valve.

Some of the valves tend to get buried in landscaping, so to echo another user here, turn it off at the curb.
You can do it with a wrench or buy a curb key from Home Depot or Lowes. It's a bit easier with those just because you're not on your knees, bent over, knees on hot rocks.

I'm in a Courtyard Villa and this is exactly what you said here.

In the garage, give the handle a quarter turn, it is that easy.

Some of the courtyard villas don’t have a shutoff anywhere other than the meter box. The lid will be very heavy and watch for what critters may be in there. Also make sure you are cutting off the house/potable water and not the irrigation water. There are separate meter boxes and the lid should read irrigation on the yard water meter. If you have an electric water heater make sure to flip it off in the breaker panel if the water is going to be off for a while

You’ve had some very well meaning responses….
However, to be sure where YOUR shut off valve is located it would behoove you to call the Warranty Department. They will be able to verify your location…..

Mine is located on the back wall of garage below the breaker box. I leave the door panel off. As mentioned turn 1/4 turn and it’s off. I’m a snow bird and return a couple times a year so I always turn off water if gone for more than a couple days. BTW this valve turns water on/off to the Villa only, not the lawn sprinkler water - that valve is located out in front of garage under green lid at ground level.

In my courtyard villa there is a valve on the back wall of the garage, near the floor. There is also a valve outside under one of the boxes in my front yard. Hope that helps.

Note that if your house has a whole house water softener or filter system, you can probably turn off the water at that location in the garage.
It's in the garage in the 12" x 12" panel near the floor as stated. I had a handyman put a straight handle to make it easier to turn the water off and on and also had him put a hinged door for easy opening and closing. I always turn my water off if I am going to be gone for a few days.
p.s. don't forget to drain the water after you turn it off. Just open the faucet until the water stops coming out and then turn off the faucet.

Every unit can be different, the shut off can be in the garage or outside. The simplest is to call the District Office, 753-4508, and they will connect you with the department that has the details. It could be the utility department or community standards, I can’t remember which. Once you find it, consider having a convenient location installed inside your garage. It’s not expensive and can be useful when traveling or in an emergency.

Yes they are different and every home owner needs to know this information if only
for emergency's only.
Don't forget as stated, there are two shut-offs, one for the house and one for the irrigation.

That’s a great thing to know! But some people don’t know.

Getting into the box outside could get someone into trouble. That is property of a utility

In the garage most likely on an outside wall, look for a panel door in wall near floor

Should be in the garage low near the floor behind a plastic cover. Ball valve. may be a little hard to turn if it hasn't been turned for a while.

I bought a CYV 10 months ago and it was hard to find. But it was same as what you said. I had to keep shoveling rocks until I found it. Then left it partially exposed so easy to find again.

Probably within a foot of your foundation. best thing to do is go to your next door neighbor that has the same model and ask him to show you his valve location. From retired ny lic.plumber.jr

Hello, have you ever thought to call a plumber that might give you the answer over the phone?

I doubt it. You will only get a receptionist who won't know the answer.

In your garage on an outside wall is a plastic white cover low on the wall. Pop the cover and the water shut off is there.
