My wife and I visited TV this past April and were amazed at the life style. We worked with one of the sales people and were impressed with the Designer Series homes. We decided we would visit again in April of 2011 to reserve a lot. However, our sales person called us last week and told us of a new village that just opened and convinced us (wasn't difficult to do) that we should reserve a lot now before they increased in price. Plus we liked the proximity to the new town square and 466A. TV of St. James borders Buena Vista and St. Charles Place. The process of reserving a lot is easier than it was this past April. A deposit of $7,500 now reserves any lot for up to 12 months.

Congratulations, billnterri! You are the first I've heard of to select a lot in St. James.
Wow, it was only a couple months ago that TV began selling lots in Tamarind Grove.
St. James is the final village to be developed north of 466A. And the beat goes on...

Congratulations! You'll be just across the golf course [Yankee Clipper] from us. We're in a designer home in St. Charles...
Enjoy the process....

We received a sales map from our sales person when we chose our lot and it appears there will be one additional Village between 466A and St. Charles Place. We will be moving from Columbus, Ohio hopefully next Sept. or Oct. Can't believe this will most likely be my last year to shovel snow.

Congrats! My sister put a deposit down on a lot in St. James on Oct 3rd! Looks like a beautiful neighborhood! She will be building on Yankee Clipper Run. Also looks like there are 11-12 lots sold going by the sold signs. Where are you building?

billnterry, You will have a beautiful home! We were out there last night and counted 17 lots that were sold! Have met several other couples that are building there. St.James hasn't even been open 2 weeks! Headed to the open house at the models tomorrow but she has picked out most things for her new home. Exciting times!

Hello all,
This seems to be the thread for all folks from Ohio, so I just had to chime in. My husband and I are hoping to be full time at our home in TV sometime in January, so I definitely get the excitement about being near the end of winters in Ohio. The last few have been outrageous, haven't they? I can't wait until the average February day is just "another great day in The Villages!"

Have ties to Ohio. Lived in Findlay for 40 years. Daughter lived in Columbus and graduated from OSU Vet school in 2008. Parents from Cincinnati. Anyone familiar with Ohio winters understands the draw of TV! May this be the last winter for all of you Ohio people!

Congratulations to Bill & Terri (and all the other lucky people who decided to purchase in St. James)! We'll be neighbors! My husband & I were just down there & purchased Lot #72, also on Yankee Clipper Run. I grew up in Ohio & attended OSU - looks like there will be quite a few Buckeyes living in St. James. We are excited about the neighborhood, its location & TV in general - & close to Brownwood (eventually)! Enjoy selecting your options when you return. See you in a year or so!

Welcome to the neighborhood. We made the trek down I-75 from Ohio this past mid-May to St Charles, right across Yankee Clipper, and I'll assure you there are no skid marks. There has been 30 degrees temperture difference between Dayton and The Villages for several days in a row, and fall is just getting underway. Drove over that way this past weekend and it is really starting to blossom, with street lights being the most evidence and nearly complete mail room and other infrastructure. Again, WELCOME !

Thank you to all the well wishers. We're definitely getting excited, but have a lot to do to get ready. I get heart palpatations at the thought of clearing out my basement, but have made some progress.
MustangSally, looks like we'll be just a couple blocks away from each other. When will you be making the move? You're right, it sounds like we'll have plenty of Buckeyes for company. We're looking forward to April to see how St. James is shaping up.

Terri, we don't expect to move down until late 2011 or early 2012, unless I can get rid of LOTS of stuff sooner! That doesn't seem too likely at this point - it's really pretty overwhelming! We also have 6 grandchildren here & a number of activities that keep me very busy. Guess I'll be going into panic mode after the holidays...!!

Hi Mustang Sally,
I wrote on a different thread this morning and Bill (lot #95) wrote back. My name is Linda and my husband is Sandy and we also bought on Yankee Clipper Run. We are lot #69, not far from you. We were going back and forth with lot #69 and #71. The final decision came down to the size of the backyard. We are putting a pool in and lot #69 was a perfect fit for it. I think we are going to have a great neighborhood, as I write this I am getting excited!:MOJE_whot:

Congratulations Linda and Sandy! My husband, Jan, and I look forward to meeting you! Every time I read TOTV I am more anxious to move down. We are going with a hot tub in the lanai as we need the yard for our Greyhounds. They are very gentle and very well behaved. (And we are VERY responsible pet owners, i.e. we do not allow them to relieve themselves in neighbors' yards! So you won't have to worry about that if you don't happen to be pet lovers!) See you in 2011/2012!!

Same here about being excited! As far as your dogs, no problem with us, we are animal lovers!!! Sadly we don't have a dog anymore, our little Bichon passed away 2 1/2 years ago. We will get another dog someday, but right now the time is not right. Are your dogs full size Greyhounds? My sister has 3 Italian Greyhounds and they are great dogs.
Which designer model are you building?

We are building a Holly model on Capstan Ct, closing date to be 1/18. We are excited and anxious to get away from the IN winters (it is snowing right now!) We really think we will like this location and are gleaning all info we can from all the other posters. Thanks for all the valuable info, can't wait to get there.

Linda - Our dogs are retired racers, ages 10 and 12, CGC and pet therapy trained doing Hospice visits. Bichons are wonderful - you should get another one - our 2 love other dogs! We will probably build the Camellia/Gardenia. Our agent put us in touch with the folks who bought Lot #71 - haven't heard back yet but they may be down there ordering their new home (Iris) now! We're going to have terrific neighbors, I see!!

My wife and I have been planning to move to TV for the past couple of years. I just changed assignments with my job that allows me to live in Central FL so we signed the contract on our new home in St. James the first week of November. There were only two homes under construction at the time and now there are over 20 with the roofs on. We close on ours mid-January. Can hardly wait to start enjoying the lifestyle and meet our new neighboors

My wife and I will be moving into our new home in St. James on Jan 19th. 70 days from signing contract. We are very excited about moving in and meeting our new neighboors. I was there last week and the adult pool was finished but not open. It appears they have started excavation on the site for the new Family rec center as well.

Welcome to St. James. We will be visiting TV during the month of April to see our lot for the first time and to select which style of designer we will build. We will be putting our house in Columbus on the market in June and hopefully moving to TV sometime in the Fall.
We look forward to meeting all of our new neighbors!
