My mother is currently on the AARP United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan. There are so many Advantage plans to choose from in the Open Season.
She is happy with her Dr. in The Villages and he is on this plan. Just wondering if anyone has an advantage plan they like and would recommend.

Be careful as the villages only accepts 3 or 4 advantage plans.

Call the Villages health system to get the correct info, I gave up on them when they converted to just ADVANTAGE plans, so I do not have the current info.

The Villages Health (the PCP facilities) accepted UHC and Florida Blue Medicare Advantage Plans only for 2021 (assuming you are of Medicare age, they take other plans for pre-Medicare patients). I suspect they will continue with only accepting those plans for 2022 but you would want to call or stop buy one of their offices (they have representatives in their resource centers) to discuss. The Villages Health Specialty facilities have no such restrictions.

UHC does not require referrals for specialist and now includes Shands - we have been with them for several years and very satisfied

Not in network. Be sure you look at the HMO vs PPO Advantage plans. We have the PPO. The specialists we wanted for knee and hip replacement, and Moffitt Cancer in Tampa were not on the PPO in network providers. You may not need them now but the better specialists in many cases do not accept PPO. Do your research!
