First Halloween here in the Villages. Is there trick or treating here and if so, how many show up and which night?

Buy the candy, and then sit home and eat it! No Kids Trick or Treating in neighborhoods. Check out the Halloween event at Brownwood with Truck or Treat with Classic Cars.

Tricks are for kids

no kids around

but the neighbor across the street came over few years ago on Halloween, rang the door bell, held out an empty shot glass and said 'trick or treat'

We buy one bag of candy, just in case. Far as Halloween, around here everyone is disguised as old people, they keep trying to take off the costume with no success.

Love the comments, especially the shot glass, too funny.

My dad used to do that and I never understood why as he drank beer but rarely did he drink liquor.

Unless your neighbors come and ring your doorbell with an empty glass instead of a sack and are asking for a drink hand out. Actually, that is a fun way to have a neighborhood meet and greet. Our friends did that in their neighborhood.

Now I know why tp is in short supply.

Villagers are stocking up to paper the houses of people who wont fill the shot glass.

Halloween is a bit constrained here.

DeSantis issued a "No Mask" mandate.

That a good question or a good guess. Since there are no young children living in TV, not many Trick r Treaters unless some people have grandchildren visiting, but that depends on you neighborhood. I would just buy the smallest bag of Candy that you can buy.

Everyone dresses up like old people and drive their golf cars door to door looking for marshmallows......you will see a lot out that nite but they must be home before dark so no issues..........

A couple of years ago there was a line of people outside a neighbors house. Turns out he was giving out Viagra pills. What surprised me even more was that most of the people were wives, including mine.

When I lived in Houston, we would always have dog treats for the pups that dressed up, or the parents on the sidewalk holding the dogs while the kids came to the door. We also had beer for the parents.

Is there a Howl-o-Ween, some kind of event with / for pups? If not, we should start one. Dress up the pups, walk them around for treats. Or sit in your driveway with your pups and the fur parents walk around the neighborhood and get creepy cocktail samples, or people treats, whichever. THAT would be fun!

The small village where I live in UK is full of oldies, as younger families cannot afford the prices that the houses now fetch.
No trick or treating, decorations, pumpkins etc. any more.
Most of all, I miss moaning about all the b****y kids knocking on the door at Halloween, and leaving no sweets/candies for me to finish off!

In TV children do not reside (for the most part) I have been here since 2003 and the total numbers of goals and ghosts has always been '0' plan accordingly

Make sure it's candy you like or your grandkids for their next visit.
You WON'T be giving out any in TV...
