Can you recommend someone who can troubleshoot and repair a telephone line within my home?

I can help, but I would like additional info. This could be the push down block in the low voltage panel, or a broken wire in one of the outlets. Are all of the outlets 'dead' or only one? Assuming you are using a modem to energize the phone outlets have you tried moving the modem connection to another outlet temporarily?
The phone outlets are all wired in parallel, so a break affects one outlet, and a short affects all outlets.
Hope this helps, feel free to send a PM if you would like me to look at your problem.

If you are using a digital phone service, like Xfinity, the easiest solution is to buy a set of cordless phones and connect the master phone to the modem. Then, use the other cordless phones in the other rooms. That way, you are bypassing the entire built-in phone wiring system. If you are using an actual analog phone service, you may want to consider switching to a digital service. It is cheaper and has many more calling features.

I agree with above, however there are a couple of devices that still look for a real telephone line, the FAX option in my wireless printer expects a phone line, my wife's medical equipment expects a phone line, for example. We use a completely wireless phone system that is plugged into the house phone wiring which is then plugged into the modem. This gets all of our equipment working.
