For all of those who are familiar with my original posting about Pat the Plumber and the story of my uncle, I am happy to say that Pat has gone above and beyond the call to rectify the situation. He has agreed to return all of the cost to my uncle and felt badly that this had happened.
And to reiterate, our issue was not with the quality of his work. Thank you all for reading this and passing along this new information.

It is good that he did return the money but it sounds like so many otheres have gotten ripped off by him...does not sound like an honest mistake.

I am happy for your uncle and it looks like TOTV is a good forum for this type of discussion

It's a quick way to go out of business or end up in jail.
Received a circulated email yesterday warning of the situation. I am pretty sure it has gone viral.
Too late I am sure for the remedy.
Moral of the story, don't mess with seniors. They don't just sit and take it anymore.

thank you to everyone who has read my follow up. Most people who-mailed me that I received from this follow up seem to think that he cannot be trusted and that this probably wasn't the first time he has done this. Just letting you know what my responses were.
I can bet you though that he won't be pulling this any time soon. At least I certainly hope not. My goal was not to put him out of business, but to put a permanent stop these type of business practices.

My seasonal neighbor returned a few days ago. They had a leaky toilet, called "Pat the Pumber" he gave them an estimate of almost $500.00. My neighbor being a smart woman said---oh oh something not right here. Called a plumber, not a business, and had her problem fixed for $76.00. New toilets do not cost that much money!!

Sounds like PTP did the right thing.............unfortunately it appears he did it only because he got caught; and maybe read this board. I still wouldn't use PTP for anything after reading about all the complaints on this board.
Thank you TOTV :BigApplause:

According to Atlantic's recent post, looks like Pat the Plumber will still pull his shananigan's if he thinks he can get away with it. What a shame!
