My Villages theatre group "The Vespians" is performing a very funny British Farce play at the Eisenhower Rec Center in early November 2021.
We are looking to borrow an old set of Bagpipes that can produce some noise for one of the scenes.
Please contact Mike Hassett in The Village of Fenney at 717.601.0574 or email mchassett@comcast.net if you have some old Bagpipes or can direct me to a Villager, Village Club or someone that has them.
Thanks!
Mike

I know nothing about bagpipes or farce plays for that matter. "Make some noise," Perhaps someone in your group could make something? I doubt anyone will say those are not proper bag pipes. Have you tried ebay? A prop house that would rent them? Poking fun but far as lending out bagpipes for anyone who owns them, it is in the same league as can I borrow your spouse.

Yes, they can both make a very annoying sound... (checks over my shoulder...)

Asking a musician if you can use their instrument is not something to be taken lightly. Musical instruments, good ones, often cost hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars. To use one in a skit for some kind of unspecified joke could subject it to possible irreparable damage. Best you follow advice from above. Also make an obviously fake bag pipe and get a few folks to surreptitiously stand behind bagpiper and hum like bagpipes for another gag.
Good luck with the show.

Did you try doing an internet search for sound clips of bagpipes, if you do not need actual bagpipes, this might work.

My Dad plays bagpipes in the local group that always plays at the squares around the various holidays. I doubt anyone would be willing to let you use their personal set of pipes as they are expensive and need to be handled a certain way to avoid damage but I can ask and maybe someone has a broken set of pipes. Send me a private message if you want.
