I would highly recommend Dr. Samuel Bundz on Rt. 441 in Leesburg.

I would highly recommend that this isnt the forum to ask about surgeons

Gall Bladder surgery now is like getting our tonsils out in the 50s and 60s...
Any surgeon can do it now
But maybe u want the best

I don't agree. What is wrong with asking for a suggestion? I would also use the "Healthgrades" and "Vitals" websites that provide patient reviews of doctors. When I had surgery, I rejected a surgeon recommended by my primary care doctor because of a particularly bad review on Healthgrades. I used Dr. Bundz instead.

I find that disturbing.

I totally disagree.
We live and learn through other peoples experiences and the bad should be
weeded out.
Knowledge is important when our heath is at stake.

There is a TOTV forum devoted to "Medical and Health Discussion". The OP should be moved by the moderators......

I don't have a recommendation for a surgeon here in Florida, but asking here is perfectly fine. Seems freedom of speech is our most fleeting liberty nowadays. A lot of people are overly anxious to say what you can or can not ask and where if anywhere you can ask it. Next, if you have the wrong opinion they are anxious to label or banish you. Where did all get started? It is like cancer.

Had gallbladder surgery in June. It was performed by Dr. Rossidis with Ocala Health Surgeons at West Marion Hospital as outpatient. In and out in 4 1/2 hours. Was pleased with doctor and hospital.

This is such a false statement. I am still employed in the medical field in the area. I can tell you first hand, ALL SURGEONS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. As for asking, i see nothing wrong with it. Everyone should do their research especially when it affects their body and life.

Finding the "best" implies having tried all available local surgeons - that never happens. As a primary care physician I gave recommendations to specialists who consistently got good results. The borderline quality Docs never got a recommendation. I based it on literally hundreds of referrals over the years. If you trust your primary Doc, ask them, if you don't, well, that brings up the obvious question. Every surgeon, eye Dr, urologist has some bad outcomes, as nobody is that good. Sometimes Uncle Charlie had a recommendation of the "best" surgeon who happened to be 2 hours drive away. Off they went getting medical care the hard way. I got involved on a Friday afternoon when complications arose and the "best" surgeon wasn't on call that weekend.

In short most people can say they had a good experience with someone which is useful. Just don't assume that is the "best".

Get serious. No surgery is routine and definitely not gall bladder removal. Not every doc can or will do it!

I'll second that recommendation

I think it is very wise to hear other peoples experiences and who they recommend. It's always best to get a referral from people. I actually keep lists of doctors here in TV in case I should ever need.
