Throw them on your front lawn with a free sign and watch them disappear.

Is there still some life in them? If so, I would roll 'em up and set them on the end of the driveway. We've given away a number of things that way. Put a curb alert on Craig's list if you like.

If they are shot, call the disposal company. They are very accommodating here. There may be an extra charge.

Better yet, put a $50 price on them, and watch them disappear overnight...

i cut them in manageable pieces then deposit them in the dumpster at the nearest Public School! My tax bill arrived and it appears I have 1400.00 school dumpster Credit!

Rather than asking here call your trash pick up company. Ours is Waste Management.
I called when we first moved in. I was pleasantly surprised that they would take as many boxes as you put out. If, I recall you either had to flatten them or I did just to make it more manageable.

Large area rugs? They are easy to cut with a razor knife, roll them up making it easier for you to move and for the collectors to handle.

I would roll it up, fold it in half, tie it up, and put out with trash.

I put out almost 1000 square feet of carpeting and underlayment, exactly as stated above. I cut the carpet into strips about 4 feet wide, rolled these up and tied them into rolls. I then put 3 or 4 out at a time, took me 32 weeks to get rid of all the carpet, but the project took about that long, so I really did not have much sitting at the house.
