There is hope. After years of nothing done and then a terrible fix the Rainey Trail (472) and 301 intersection is finally getting a stoplight.

Just a few questions;
Is a traffic "single" the same as unmarried traffic?
Is "Chitty chatting" when a Chitty talks too much? :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:
Too funny, GE!

At Chitty Chatty Run, Morse is County RTT 468.
As usual, VT is spot on. Contact the county.

Warm springs and 301 is no picnic and will be much worse when Hammock at Fenney is complete as well as the new industrial parks and family housing going up on 301. I think Megisson is going to be getting very busy as the go to north/south route to take

Maybe after there are enough accidents at that intersection, they will put in a traffic light.
When Chitty Chatty was being built, we used to go there, park our car, and walk around. The walking trail around the lake was very nice and it is always fun to go thru new homes under construction.
To be honest, I'm surprised anyone ever bought a home there because it was obvious that it would be very difficult to turn left onto Morse Road / Route 468. And it will get much worse as more homes are built south of Route 44.

I think so, Ecuadog.
While I was put off at first while reading OP's post, when he mentioned being blind in one eye, I figured he was probably doing talk-to-text. "They" really haven't perfected talk-to-text yet. Plus I think you have to "talk" the punctuation into it. I think that after hearing my friend doing this while talking-to-text her daughter on her cell phone.
I received a talked text from a neighbor this morning. It started, "Hi, Ryan here..." His name is Mike!

Sorry to be the voice of reason here but…… If you can’t see there you can’t see in other places too so maybe you should not be driving at all. When you bought the house in Chitty Chatty the intersection was exactly the same. Choices

If you are confused, the OP is referring to the intersection where Chitty Chatty Run on one side and the driveway to Sandalwood Condominiums on the other side enter Morse. This is quite a ways south of 44 and just before the traffic circle and the high speed turn onto Warm Springs Avenue. I’m usually on that section of Morse four times a week. It is four lane, 45 mph, and has excellent visibility with wide margins. Morse in that area has traffic circles, not signals, so it is unlikely that a signal will be installed there. What is more, as there is a traffic circle not far away, it seems unlikely that another one will be added, but it’s possible if you ask. But not a light. However, in my experience, there is hardly any traffic on that road most of the time. It’s a very easy left turn. Try driving up Morse and crossing 466. On Morse between 466 and Rio Grande, left turns from Morse or onto Morse sometimes require a bit of a wait before there is a break in traffic and fast reflexes when there is. Much heavier traffic there with no roundabouts or turn lanes.

Or...even in the "old" section and not just the new areas. We've noticed that people who live off from North Morse have long waits to turn out of their neighborhoods. North Morse during "high season" can be daunting and don't get me started on the round-about just before 441/27. I still see drivers who don't know how to navigate the circles there and surprised there aren't even more pile-ups. Then add the golf-cart drivers. People need to go back and review their "driver's education" lessons---that is "IF" they ever had them. Maybe take the course again just as a refresher.

Well, I think some people judge levity/humor/sarcasm based on their own degree of "wokeness" Personally, I consider the only acceptable level of "wokeness" to be quite a bit less than zero.
Really, God forbid you offend anybody for any reason regardless of what you see. Illegal aliens are just that, NOT "UNDOCUMENTED". The bullpen is where relief pitchers warm up NOT "THE ARM BARN". Something that is grammatically gibberish should be pointed out. And why do universities need "free speech zones" in a country founded on free speech? Yet there are people, even on this site, that defend this type of nonsense.
For my part, if I post something in gibberish, or something completely factually off base, please call me out on it, I won't consider it a "joke at my expense":1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: (But you better be correct, since you know what they say about payback:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:)

No. I don't mock or belittle. I do, however, have the ability to laugh AT myself and to laugh WITH others who are able and willing to laugh at themselves.
Mocking, belittling comes from meanness. I am not inherently mean, I would never knock your ice cream cone out of your hand. But, if a seagull swooped down and stole it from you, I would laugh, hysterically. I would then offer to buy you another.

Obviously we all knew what the writer was asking. They are obviously new to the community; where is your tolerance and compassion?
The answer was given, contact the appropriate county. US 301 is a US highway and signal lights and any changes need state and federal approval. I think the process must start at the local level, the city or county.

So then it's just having a laugh at someone else's expense.
Once had a comedian explanation of humor that went something like this.
All jokes, things folks find funny have to have a butt to the joke, be it a person, animal, place or thing.
Example of person might be a "blond" joke or child putting their spaghetti bowl on their head.
Example of animal might be dog butt scooting.
Always a butt or focus point for humor. The supposed injury is not serious or fatal.
"Man falls three floors, hits sidewalk, bounces once and lands on feet then walks casually away" - funny.
"Man falls three floors, splat, dead" - not funny.
Now, OP, pointed out that traffic signal is needed. Good, but serious and not funny. OP's post, for whatever reason had errors of various kinds. No one hurt as a result of post that many of others here found some humor in. No real or lasting harm intended or done.
To OP, thanks for bringing attention to a traffic problem. Also, I hope you were not offended by the fun some of us enjoyed as a result of minor errors we had some fun with.
What else can we have fun with. Oh, if anyone sees me fall flat on my ass, please finish laughing be for asking if I'm ok.

Because it's you, I'll explain:
Illegal aliens are just that, illegal, and by their very presence in our country they have committed a felony against the citizens of the United States. The woke culture and the PC police has renamed these criminals "undocumented", which is terrible euphemism for their crime.
I was not "mocking" the OP, in fact I sympathize with his lack of vision in his left eye for reasons I've already stated. I was making a humorous comment about the words that were put in the post. Yet several people got their undies in a bunch over a little joke as if I told them their mother wore army boots. It was not "cruel" to the OP, it was a joke, , and in my opinion, one needs to have a "wokeness" level of 7 or higher to feel offended by it.

45 MPH speed limit on S. Morse is a joke.
It is not a joke to us.
We drive down to the Southern Area several times a week to enjoy the amenities down there and we never exceed the 45 mph speed limit.
By the way, the new walking trail at Hawkins is beautiful, even better than the trail at Hogeye.

Something that is grammatically gibberish should be pointed out. For my part, if I post something in gibberish, or something completely factually off base, please call me out on it, I won't consider it a "joke at my expense"
Fully agree. It is so irritating trying to sort out some of the gibberish that lands on this and other social media sites, and double that irritation for the factual errors. A thoughtful proof read of what has been written before hitting the "submit reply" button goes a long way.

You want to have your errors pointed out GE? How about your belief that you are the one who decides whether your wife is allowed to drive. Is she your inferior incapable of deciding her own ability without your divine blessing? Doctor God complex?
Please don't come back and say your didn't actually mean those words. Surely you'd claim you meant to say you are comfortable with her driving. You attacked the OP for using words that were wrong but the meaning was entirely clear to everyone. I think your words might be entirely clear as well. Freudian slip.
And not to let another error by you in this thread go by... Apparently your wife, who is allowed to drive, also is good at using her I phone. [post #14] What's an I phone? Is it different than a U phone? Or is the reader likely to know that your I phone is really, correctly, an iPhone? Just like I knew single was signal, Chitty chatting was Chatty, and Morris was Morse. Should I now add the obligatory three laughing heads emoji?

Some people are quick to point out other people’s errors and laugh at them. I can’t believe that supposedly intelligent people would demean and belittle other people for their grammar and spelling. I know that everyone is not kind but one at least hopes for some consideration and politeness in public discourse.

Just reread thru the posts for fun (third time. My idea of fun is often confusing to others). I FINALLY got the joke. Now, I'm not sure which made me laugh more, your post, or the fact that I completely missed the gag, TWICE!

Yes, but did you feel "belittled", or "demeaned", or that she was "cruel"---or did you take it as intended????? Perhaps some of the others on this thread will catch the drift here. (but then again, perhaps not:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:)

The serious answer is: I took it as a joke or gag and I was/am the butt/focal point of said joke. If it had been physically portrayed it would have been a tickle, and I would have laughed, just like I'm laughing now at both the joke and my own silly error. I want to assure everyone that no fdpaq0580's were harmed in any way as a result of this joke, and I hope and expect to be the butt of many more jokes and gags in the future.
Thank you.

I might have used the word bully instead of clown. But then again, it's all in fun. Right? I'm probably just being overly sensitive or having "a 'wokeness' level of 7 or higher", whatever that gibberish means.

Inane humor. Yes. Making fun of others. No (hopefully no real mean spirited intent here.). Just having fun with others. Don't like my post, pick it apart. At best, I will enjoy the joke at my expense and laugh along with others and be glad to have given them something to laugh about.
At worst, I will know that you read my post, even if you didn't understand it or like it.

Just one question:
Is this what is known as belittling?
We’re all grown, elderly age adults (at least most of you are) so what do it matter? None of us were part of the “everyone gets a participation trophy” generation so who really will get their feelings hurt?
I’m sure that 100% of people on TOTV know they run the risk of getting getting snide remarks thrown their way if their comments warrant it.

Just go around the next roundabout and come back. Much safer.
I do believe that there isn't a another roundabout between there and 44. Like the guy said, he goes right and then makes a left into the fire station to get South.

I drive past this intersection most days. I have never seen it so busy that a driver could not negotiate a right or left turn after a short pause. Perhaps it is time to give up driving.
In my previous job (traffic specialist / police) I took complaints like this and investigated for a large city. City traffic planners were always aware of any legitimate issues and had good reasons not to change the current traffic set ups.

Charles Schulz once said something to the effect of "slipping and falling on a banana peel is not funny. Unless it's the other guy slipping and falling on a banana peel. Then it's funny."
He was asked why he never let Charley Brown kick the football. He said "because that's not funny."
When he went to his 50th high school reunion he introduced himself to an old classmate who said "Charles Schulz, huh? Too bad your not the real Charles Shulz, you know, the one who does 'Peanuts'". He couldn't convince this woman that he was the "real" Charles Schulz. He said that wasn't funny either.
I thought it was. So, funny is different things to different people I suppose.
