Hello Villagers,

It took awhile to find but ... I'm closing on my new home in Hammock at Fenney the end of this month. I'm so excited to be leaving the midwest (Chicago, Illinois) to begin my next chapter in The Villages.

I'm looking forward to getting to know my future soon to be new neighbors, and wondering if there is a Facebook group or Blog for new residents in Hammock at Fenney?

Thanks everyone!
Ken

The Nextdoor app might be helpful to you, it is subdivided by neighborhood.

We are on our way down as well, to Citrus Grove.

So to sort of quote Jerry and Linda from the Youtube videos, we will see each other when we get there !

I left the Chicago area in 1982 and have been in Florida ever since. Miss all the good food from back home but sure don't miss driving in the snow. Welcome to your new home and enjoy.

Is hammock at fenney built on a stone quarryDefinitely not ON a stone quarry. There are several active limestone quarries about 1-2 miles to the south and east.

Welcome! We live in The Hammocks at Fenney as well, not too far from the mail station. Been there since October. Great people in the area, it will be even better once the construction trucks finish up....

As people already mentioned there is a Facebook Group for our area already. I'll have to check into the Nextdoor place....

Suburbs or Chicago? Either way it's good to be out of a super high taxed state.

Wrong. Soil testing is done and areas unsuitable are not developed. Fenney is however, the Village with the most natural setting I have seen. Biggest reason we bought in the Fenney Hammock.
