anyone have an issue with landscapers trucks and trailers letting their ramp crash down on the bottom a[of a driveway?? My neighbor's landscaper pulls in front of my driveway and drops his ramp down on the bottom of the driveway then runs his mower off the ramp causing more damage. these painted driveways are nor easily repaired.. I need to speak to him, but I do not speak the language..

Trust me you speak the language. A little pointing and talking in an angry voice and he WILL get the message.

Get photos or a video then contact the landscaper. If that fails your other option may be small claims court.

What would one do on a phone call if he cannot speak the language.
Approach him the next time it happens……starting with a smile. He may not even know there is a problem.

My opinion. I would photo them doing it and the damage. There is what should be and reality. In reality, the gardener saying yes I did it and I will pay to have it repaired for you.
Would be a pleasant shock.
We do not know you or your neighbor. You must decide what you want, what you think is fair. Or would you be happy if the gardener, mover guy simply was told by your neighbor to stop doing this. Things are tight around here. Many of the mowing people use trailers that are far too wide for the streets. They are not allowed to block your driveway. They may only be there for 15-20 minutes. You need to decide if it is worth it. Someday you might have your home painted, new roof etc. Can get uncomfortable with you and a neighbor trying to get even with each other.

OP, IMHO, your neighbor has no responsibility in this matter. You could ask them for the name and contact phone number if it is not on the truck, then explain to them the nature of the problem and ask for their help in the matter. A complaint with seniors against crime may get the companies attention.

Are you in a curve or what? I don’t understand how that could happen. In Spanish just say “No aqui por favor” . Share a picture please

If doing business in Florida he is required to have insurance. Show him the damage and have his insurance correct. If no go, take him and company to court. He will find a way to communicate.

Hmmm... not sure what the issue is.It'd be different if you tried to talk to him. Sounds like you didn't. Go out and speak with the man...language barrier or not. I'm sure he will get the gist of what you're saying quite easily. Or, somebody in his crew must understand. No need for lawyers, insurance, getting into it with your neighbor, crimes against seniors or whatever else anyone can think of. In the end, he's just a man, working hard to support his family.Yes, it's annoying and yes, it can damage your driveway. Tell him. Most likely he'll be happy to comply.

Just because the guy in the truck doesn't speak English doesn't mean that he doesn't work for someone who does.... Or not...
Only one way to find out...

Because this person wants to have a nice looking driveway, he should be punished? Your answer is not nice!!

Why are you assuming the landscaper speaks Spanish? Isn't that a tad rac...
Nah, I can't do this with a straight face... Good suggestion! :icon_wink::icon_wink::icon_wink:

Maybe the landscaper should park in front of the yard that he is mowing. We had a landscaper who parked more than half the day in front of our house. They went out to mow all the lawns in the neighborhood and then came back to their truck to refuel, get more equipment, eat lunch, etc. I finally asked the landscaper if he could park in front one of his customer’s house, not mine. He gave me a stare but didn’t park there again.

I've only ever seen landscape trucks parked on the road, with the ramps down on the road. How is it that the dropped ramp is hitting any part of your painted driveway? They would have to actually back up into your driveway to have the ramp hit it, wouldn't they?

You know when they come. I would be standing at end of my driveway and when they come let them know you do not want them to use your driveway for their equipment drop off or on because you have a specialized driveway paint and it’s damaged . One of them will understand your English. You need to talk to them. Let your neighbors know who use them that there’s problem to be resolved.

Why are they pulling into driveways? I would think they unload in the street like I see in my neck of the woods.

Blink cameras have excellent quality feeds. I don’t know if you can get a quality camera for $30.

There is no reason they should be on your driveway. They should be on the street. I’d park my car there.
Or…
I would get their attention if they ignore me, I’d honk car my car horn right beside their truck until they notice and point to driveway and indicate that I want them to move. It can be done politely but firmly. Once I have their attention I’d point to the damage. I would try not to get angry, they can see damage and most likely do not want to cause any. They are probably in a hurry and take short cuts. At the most what they can do is ignore me. That won’t get them far as I can be pretty persistent.
