Hi everyone,

Looking at realtor.com and other online pics, but can't get the info I'm looking for....

Are the interior of the closets in TV the same height as the room they are in? So if you have a bedroom with a 12-foot ceiling, is the closet also 12 feet high?

And it's possible to add another row of shelves in a closet, correct? No approval needed?

In our house, a gardenia with 2 closets off the master bedroom, the ceilings follow the roof line of the master bedroom. I added an additional row for shelving that you need a short step stool to get to. As for the guest bedroom closet it also follows the bedroom ceiling, however this closet is narrow, so an additional shelf may not be useful as getting stuff on and off the shelves many be difficult.

We are in a Lantana and the closets are same as the rooms or hall. In the walk-in closet in our bedroom, we added two levels of shelves for storage (need small step ladder). In other wall closets that can’t walk in, also added shelves, but access is limited.

I have two wire shoe shelves that surround both closets in our gardenia master bedroom which gives us three levels for shoes. I too must be closely related to Ms Marcos or at least my husband has mentioned it once or twice.

Our home with 10 foot ceilings has three wire shelves above the full length hanging in the walk-in guest closet. That’s the only closet that hasn’t been customized so I believe that’s how the developer built it. We do use the top two for Christmas decorations. Even my master closets will be much less festive once Christmas decorating commences.

YES! And sometimes you may want to throw on a different pair of flip flops so my 2 slot shoe rack is perfect for flip flop pair 1 and flip flop pair 2! That's all I need in life! :a040:

Not all closet ceilings are the same height as the bedroom or hallway ceilings. It all depends on the design of the home. My closets off my master bedroom are on either side of the hallway going to the master bath. One closet is bigger than the other. The smaller one has a ten foot ceiling, and the bigger closet only has an eight foot ceiling.

It depends on the model of the home. I recommend you go to The Villagrs.com and look at new and preowned homes there. The usually have pictures of the closets. Also you can call tThe Villages and speak with a representative; he or she can answer your questions with no commitment.

I do not do marriage counseling but, my regular advice to guys when your wife asks why do you need that-look in her shoe closet. If, that does not work check the price of handbags.

Go to Bealls and look around. Over 90% of the space is for women. They have a few uncomfortable seats. The men's section. Sit down shut up while your wife buys another ?????? Wife grabbed the bigger closet as well as part of mine.

I read somewhere that women spend 80% of the money in the United States. A few years ago there was a ad for a Japanese SUV and the line was, and I even let him pick out the color. The ad did not run long, perhaps it worked better in Japan.

You need all the storage you can get inside the home since the garage and attics are not temperature controlled. I have a Corpus Christi with lots of closet space. 😊

I've had those cheap wire racks fall down twice. I went to Lowes and got a Closet Maids system that you screw into the top plate and then have down rods to hang off it. Much more secure.

We live in a LANTANA. High ceilings in Master Bedroom and Bath (9 or 10 foot). The height continues into the Master Closet. We had a wide shelf added high up, above our existing closet rods. We store all of our Christmas stuff up there.

You could install a storage closet in the 4 feet above the usable closet area by opening the wall above the closet, install a floor in the space thereby installing a new ceiling in the actual closet. Put in as many shelves as you want or a rod for hanging clothes that are not used fro several months. Storage added. A door that matches the closet door or some other closure to finish.

You could install a storage closet in the 4 feet above the usable closet area by opening the wall above the closet, install a floor in the space thereby installing a new ceiling in the actual closet. Put in as many shelves as you want or a rod for hanging clothes that are not used fro several months. Storage added. A door that matches the closet door or some other closure to finish.
Installing a new floor in the closet would be a structural change to the house, which would require detailed plans, electrical changes, and a county building permit. Also, the new door above the existing closet door would probably not be allowed by code, because you would need a ladder to access it. I doubt that it would be worth the effort.

Our closets vary and seem to be odd in shape, except for the Master closet in our Iris. I think that's the construction style. Jam um ( the closets) where you can.

We had the Rubbermaid shelves redone with Closet Maid slide through bars and shelving. Much sturdier and easier to slide hangers. We put shelving near the ceiling for winter clothes. We use our 5 ft ladder to access. Closets by Jeff did it. Cost was a little more than I would cost me and he reused some of the existing shelving when he could.

I plan to call him again for the dinky hall closets. He helped us double the storage, so we'll challenge him to do it again. The wire shelving doesn't collect dust. I need to be clothes shopping, not cleaning.
