Is this an outpatient surgery? Did your insurance cover this and if you would share what was the covered procedure cost?

Dr Harding is wonderful. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with her abd her office. I am now in need of a wrist replacement. She has been one of only two in the state that can do that procedure. (352) 751-0981 Her Villages office number

Had multiple trigger fingers. Tried everything- cortisone shots (extremely painful and don't last that long), exercises and acupuncture. Found my cure on You tube. Daily intake of Vitamin B6 (P5P), Tumeric Curcumin, and Magnesium. Going on 4 years now with complete relief without surgery.

That’s interesting. Years ago I had to have four trigger finger surgeries, two on each hand. Soon I had another finger starting to bother me but I put off surgery. Looking back, I started to take magnesium in a liquid form. (I do not take the B6 nor the turmeric. I have kidney issues so I have to be careful what I take and turmeric is not allowed.). That fifth finger settled down and has not been a problem but I never connected it with the magnesium. Perhaps it is the magnesium that makes a difference?

Explore this. Neither doctor said it shouldn’t have made a difference…but it did.
Had trigger finger start in middle finger left hand about February 1 year ago. Really locking up. Found hand doctor from PCP and made appointment with Dr. Cynthia Harding. Couldn’t see her until October. Meanwhile the pointer finger developed it. Still can’t get it for appointment. OK, I’ll live with it until then.
Several months ago left rotator cuff acts up and sent for MRI. PCP points me to Dr. Cook at Advanced Orthopedic in Sharon Morse Bldg. Went there last month, October, and he says the thing is so bad that either needed a 50/50 surgery or a shoulder replacement. We being a chicken, I said no thanks, what else. He tells me a couple of shots might make it more comfortable. OK, do it. I happened to tell him about the trigger finger and asked if the shots might make that better. He said, “not likely”.
In two says, I noticed the trigger finger felt pretty good. Hmmm. Within a week it felt fine. Finally got to Dr. Harding and she did the exam and could not find any indication of trigger finger. I told her about the shot and she said,”that shouldn’t have done anything for it but maybe the steroids got into the blood and that did something.” Really?
Since the shot in the rotator cuff I have no symptom of trigger finger. Six weeks. Just saying.

I had trigger finger over 10 years ago. Painful. Got a cortisone shot. Also painful, but it worked. It was my one and only cortisone shot and at the time I was lifting waits. I could feel the steroids in my body and for weeks following the shot, I was able to press notably more weight so i suspect I got a strong shot. But it has been over 10 years since the shot and trigger finger. So for those who say it shouldn't work I say, it could work and it was less invasive and expensive than surgery.

Yes I also had trigger finger. I opted not to have the surgery and it went away on its own. And then I got another finger. I am waiting for this want to go away also. Not in any pain.

Dr Vikram P. Mehta great hand doctor, he has to take a cyst out of my wrist I have a small tattoo there and he successfully removed and the scar is so small you can't see it and it did not alter my tattoo in script letters.

Now he watches the changes in my hand arthritis and other issues.

I had surgery on my left hand and it worked well. It started on my right hand and was getting pretty bad. Several months ago I started on testosterone replacement therapy and that somehow fixed it!?? No clue as to why.

Cannot say enough about Dr. Mahmood at the Orthopedic Institute on 16th St. In Ocala. Fantastic staff. Only 30 minutes to their office (20 if no traffic). Surgeries are done at W. Marion Hospital Center. The best facility in the region (we never will have Surgeries at The Villages Hospital Center or Leesburg)

Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field therapy might be a better solution. Dr. Gilliland gives free consultation and free first session. He has been very effective for me

A number of years ago I took a fall and turned my hand into a pound or so of ground meat in a nanosecond. Some years prior to that I had had a trigger finger repaired up north (long finger) which was wrecked in the fall. Received superb emergency care at at TV Regional Hospital that roughly straightened out my broken fingers, fixing dislocation and putting tendons back where they belonged—in other words a real mess. ER would not discharge me until they had an appointment with Dr Harding in place for the following day.

Simply put, Dr Harding gave me my hand back! It did take more than one surgery, including a redo of the trigger finger procedure. Many physicians prolong the number of procedures because Medicare generally won’t pay for more than one on the same day. Not Dr Harding, who did as much as she could with each visit to the OR. Let’s just say that I had done a ‘good job’ on myself, followed by Dr Harding doing an extraordinary job fixing my ‘good job’….

And besides being an exceptional hand surgeon, she is a lovely, caring and compassionate human being. And her office is conveniently located in Lady Lake near Home Depot. Unless an emergency, you might have to wait for an appointment—but she is worth the wait! 352-751-0981.

I’ve been going to acupuncture once a week for a couple of years mostly it’s for keeping up my all around well being . Im athletic and my life was very physical so at 82 your going to have some parts that don’t work as well , acupuncture helps a great deal, but before I started I had developed a trigger finger and I was a month away from doctor appointment after second acupuncture visit it was gone , never to come back , I get a full body acupuncture not a targeted part

My husband needs a hand surgeon to fix a trigger finger. Has anyone had any experiences with this?

Yes, I came down with this totally out of the blue one day and it finally got bad enough that I went to my General Practitioner and asked him for a referral to a surgeon. he said that wasn't necessary and he gave me a "cortisone shot" at the base of my finger in the palm of my hand. I won't mislead you it hurt like crazy but the pain only lasted a few few seconds. it took a few days and then miraculously my hand and finger are back to normal. This was at least 6-8 months ago and it is still fine.
Hope this helps,
Tim

Trish - Dr Harding did surgery on my hand. At the hospital they told me that people come from many other states to have her do surgery. She is really good - just have to wait a long time to get appointment - usually.

I had trigger thumb that started this summer and got worse. Went to Dr James Osborne and he recommended a steroid injection to see if that would work. Surgery was a possibility but the lesser treatment was the first option. Got the injection and it took about 3 weeks to finally go away for good. He said it might be a temporary solution and I could get an injection every 4 months for a year and after that it would be surgery. It has been 5 1/2 months and no recurrance. He was also in the Villages Health Medicare network. I never even think about it anymore.

I know someone who uses Dr. Harding, she gives A Plus ratings to the doc. I’ve had trigger fingers in both hands, I had them treated up north with Cortisone shots. They have worked but I did get a reoccurrence in the left hand, the right hand has been fine where 3 fingers were treated with Cortisone shots. I was on the verge of having surgery done on my right hand I went as far as making an appointment, but my wife talked me out of it. I’m glad she did because the last shot solved the problem finger in the right hand.

As a side note I’m a pianist that has a steady piano gig and I’d hate to lose use of a finger despite my doctor up north telling me it’s a minor procedure. Ironically enough when I play piano the trigger finger does not bother me.

Have you checked into radiation instead of surgery? I went to Jacksonville and found out they are now doing this instead of surgery if you catch it early enough. You might want to check it out
