Wondering why some posts are repeat posts from the day before. I enjoy reading the latest posts while having my morning coffee, but am disappointed when half the posts are the same ones from the day before. Is the interest that low or just inefficient post management?

Why care? We select what we read, hear etc. There are millions of books we've all not read. On any subject it is interesting to read how others view the same event. I do wonder when some thread runs like 4-5 pages how many read from the beginning. I tend to read the original post and then the more current ones. My opinion in many cases, in too many cases the devolve into lower and lower posts, name calling and little or nothing of value.

Far as management, the moderator, my guess, since it is 24 hours a day 7 days a week it is not the same person. The rules are at best vague and subjective.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.. Depending on how you're viewing the forums you can still see posts from weeks ago. Of course the fewer new posts there are the better chance of seeing posts from yesterday on the list. As far as I know there is no post management. What gets posted gets displayed. You can always just click on "Today's Posts" to see what has been posted today.

After reading the posts you want, do you click on the red box “Mark Forums Read”?

I suspect that the algorithm used to select the top posts from the prior day would have been based on the number of views and posts....

Seinfeld had a very successful run on his tv sitcom and he said the premise was that it was a show about nothing. Enjoy:a040:

I’m probably blind but I don’t see a red box to indicate I have read it. I would like to find it though. Thanks

Kenswing, you said it exactly right! If they don’t like what someone posted, why did they answer, to get insulted for being stupid for trying to get a response .Like you said, Do Nohing!

I always click on Forum New Posts up at the top of the page. That might solve your problem.

There is no inefficient post management here. When someone replies to an original post, their comment IS a NEW post (a new post to an existing topic/thread), and that thread of posts cycles back up to the top of the list.

And if your question was asked yesterday, my "posting" THIS comment/answer is in itself a new post that will cause this thread to pop back up to the top, which I assume will likewise "disappoint" someone else who would prefer to see a newer and more interesting topic.

GIFs almost always have poor punctuation and grammar... It's part of their charm... :icon_wink:
