What is the average age of people who just move into the Villages. Just curious to know if any specific age range is moving there or are they all ages. Any comments on how old you were when you went to live there.

Right now I am 58. Our home in Buttonwood will be started next July and completed in Oct. Hopefully if our home sells we will make our big move in June of 2012. If it doesn't we are still coming. TV is all we think about.

We have been here 4 years - I am currently 53 and my husband is 62. My mother lives here by Nancy Lopez CC and she is turning 80 years young next month. I think everyone can fit in here.

Hi
We just moved into Pennecamp in Sept. and love it. Almost everyone moving in on our street (including ourselves) are late 50's and early 60's.

We moved here four months ago. I will be 69 next month. My wife is only 61. My only regret is that we didn't make the move several years ago. Now we have to make up for lost time!

I'm 53 (tomorrow) and my husband is 58, and we bought in Buttonwood over the summer. (Big shout out to all the Buttonwood folks on this thread: Oceangirl, robbie and vj1213 -- looking forward to meeting you!) We hope to be there this winter. Also, my 85 year old mother's home here in Ohio is for sale and she'll be buying a place down there, too. From what I've seen, there are Villagers of all ages and everyone's young at heart! Hope to see you there, Tomcat!

We bought a pre-owned in Poinciana late spring and moved in last month. Hubby is retired and 63 and I am 61. We've had alot of company, so we haven't tried any of the activities yet except some golf and dancing on the square. Hope to get into the yoga, pilates and zumba soon!! :wine:

Gracie.....you are a hoot!!!! :a20::1rotfl::clap2:
IMO, when one moves to TV, age and social/financial status just doesn't exist here. In this wonderland, there seems to be such an abundance of social equality in all fazes of life in that everyone is young at heart and equally enjoying life to the fullest.
Retired and loving it. After eight years here as snowbirds, we've become frogs this past year....barb 'n bill

Note to self: When planning move to TV, add cost of contraception to annual budget.

This old fogey (headed for 75) is so happy so many kids are moving in. Now all I have to do is find two or three couples who'll take care of me in my "old age!" :a040:
Gracie is too young to take on such a responsibility. I'll wait until she's over 40!

Count hubby and I to invite you over to Buttonwood. Of course you have to wait till our house is built. Unless we have neighbors bring their lawn chairs over to our lot for a social gathering. :coolsmiley: look for us on Bachman Path. :)

Thank you for responding to my question. It seems to me that most of you are in the same age range as my husband and me, except for Graciegirl who is getting younger and younger. I think that is true that you are as old as you feel. My husband is 62 and I will be 53. Sometimes I feel like I am 35.
My husband was just called an old man from a kid and I mean kid I am saying a man like 30 years old. That shook him up a little. He asked me, "Do I really look like an old man?". Well, to him you might look like an old man, I responded. At 62, you're still quite young and just about eligible for social security but not the full amount.
Hopefully, we will be living in the Villages. It does sound like a friendly and a fun place to live. I want to grow younger and younger like Graciegirl too. :pepper2:

You will find all ages here. Only one person on the deed needs to be 55 or older. The youngest you can be (I've not met one of these yet) I believe is 19. My DH and are are in our mid-60's but on our street it goes from 50's to 80's and everyone is very well and active. Perhaps someone in Sales and Marketing with T.V. would have a demographic for you.

Well, we're hoping to grow younger like Graciegirl. Right now and when we move down in two weeks, I'm 63 and my wife is 55. We're hoping in a year or two I'll be 55 or less and she will be 47 or less.
Gracie - where do you get the Fountain of Youth Water?

We just closed on a villa at Creekside Landing 10/15/2010. My husband is 58 and I am 50. We can't wait to meet all of you! Everyone has been so supportive...now we want to put a name with a face. Thanks again to all the wonderful people who have had patience with me and answered my questions.
