View Full Version : Still can't clip part of a quote.

I tried eliminating the bulk of the quote and just keeping the sentence of a long winded post I want to reply to, but I lose that blue blackground and the original posters name on my reply.
I know it can be done because I've seen it, but can duplicate it.
Can it be explained to me how to accomplish in a simple way?

Hit quote and the post will appear. Like this. Delete whatever portion you don't want to include.

OK, I got it. Thanks Barefoot. I think the mistake I was making was eliminating the word "quote" from either the beginning or end of the original large post when I tried to pare it down to the part I wanted to reply to.

Just want to add...
Be sure to keep whatever part you want to quote in between the "Quote boxes." (or whatever they are called)
The quote begins with [ Quote= Person's name]
What you are quoting is in the middle
[ /Quote] The quote ends with this
(oooppss too late, you already got it! :)

Thanks for your response though Oatmealgirls. That's why I love this post and TV. You only get the nicest people here :)

Oatmealgirls is a real sweetie, although she doesn't post that often. I met her at Crispers, and she does look "fresh faced" just as her name implies.
