I received a postcard in the mail, as well as a note on my windshield, from a company wishing to purchase a hybrid date palm on my front lawn. Has anyone here received a similar offer? Is this legit?

Lots of folks get lots of junk, and I'm betting this is more junk. Probably someone that wants to sell you something. Offer to buy is just to get you to call them. Once the call is made, then the hard sell starts.
If I didn't post an ad to sell something, I would ignore any "offers" to buy.

Do you have a hybrid date palm?
I do have one and it's beautiful!
It's the focal point of my front yard. I briefly thought about the offer, but couldn't even imagine what I could replace the palm with.

Evidently they larger ones are in high demand by high paying customers. Per our arborist, ours is reaching the point in size where he said he can put us in touch with people he knows are the customers, and evidently the come dig up your huge one to provide to someone ready to pay $$$$$ vs wait for them to grow, and they replace it with a smaller one in the exact same spot, hoping to see ya again in a few years.

I would have not even known if he had not told us as he was here trimming and tending to our palms.

I'm not sure about here but in SWFL there are people that buy mature palm trees for customers that desire one. There is no shortage of palm trees there either, but mature trees of a certain type can be had easier and most likely less expensive off someone's lawn, that may be looking to rid themselves of it anyway. Had a few offers for my mature palms down south.

Call them and tell them 25,000 cash and it’s yours.

One of my neighbors did this last year and they replaced it with a young one as well as part of the deal so I would say the offer is likely legit.

If the company is Sunscape…it is legitimate. Our Canary Date Palm was Huge. You couldn’t even see the house. We sold it to them and they carefully dug it out, paid us, and replaced it with a palm of our choice. They were very professional.

It is legit. Sold a huge one for $2200 and they replaced it with one about 5 feet tall. It work well for me. It is only certain type palms that are perfectly shaped that they want.

I expect it is ok. I took advantage of a similar one a few years ago. We set a date. When they arrived they handed me a check for $250 before starting the palm removal. They said they take them to Texas. I just wanted it out and the check was a bonus.
