When I purchased my golf cart from The Villages Golf Cars a few years ago, they gave me a number to call if my cart broke down after hours.

So, what would be the benefit of having a rescue plan with Kart Aide, or similar company?

Save your money, don't do it.

Most of the time, it's dead batteries. :icon_wink:

I’m not familiar with what they will do or how much it costs. I would imagine Some get it in case the cart quit’s, you’ll have someone to call tow it. If I knew nothing about common mechanics it would be comforting to have backup plan as long as comfortable with the service and charge.

When I bought my cart from TV Golf Cars in 2017 they gave me 6 months free of Kart Aide. After that I had to pay for the service. Well worth it in my opinion.

It is kind of like insurance. You really don’t need it until you do. Over past 6 years 24hr Cart Club has rescued me twice. It is well worth the small investment.

It's similar to AAA for golf carts. I've had two different services for years and I prefer Kart Aide. They are much more personal and respond quicker.

It's about $40 a year and well worth the price. They don't usually repair your cart unless it's something simple. They will however two your cart to where ever you'd like within their area. It's great if your batteries go dead or you have a flat or run out of gas. I've had them drop my cart off at a repair service and then give me a ride home.

We have AAA for our cars and used it recently for our Golf cart - no extra charge. They arrived in 40 minutes with a large flat bed. We were at a Regional center and not sure what they would have done if we were on a golf path with that large flatbed. This was the first time in 14years our Cart had to be towed. BTW for what its worth we asked the driver if they towed more battery carts than gas carts and he taught it was about equal. Different reasons for each but the gas cart tend to just stop (no gas and broken belt) and the battery carts tend to gradually die due to battery.

Ten years, never needed it...................$400 in my pocket.

Some say it's like insurance..................BUT..........you do not insure for what you can afford. :ohdear: Insurance is for what you can not afford.

It’s a small amount to pay for peace of mind and excellent service. It may just be a dead battery, but so what——you can be stuck anywhere with your dead battery. They will take your cart to where it needs to be.

Kart Aide will still come pick up a cart for non-members. I paid about $70 when my cart broke down in early 2021.

I have had it for some time. One night on the way home from evans prairie, I blew a belt. Couldn't go anywhere. They were there in 15 minutes and towed cart to my home where I had it repaired by Willie.

Like Aa said, a tow is $70.
You have to breakdown every other year to breakeven.
Still have $400 in my pocket.

I have it for the cart we provide with our rental property and for my Wife's cart. I still do some business travel and if she's out while I'm away, I want her to have options.

As to the rental, I don't want to get a drunken call at 2am from a tenant stuck at the furthest part of Fenny(house is near SS).

For "My" cart, I have tow straps. I've needed it twice when a voltage regulator failed and the battery ultimately depleted. We flat towed it home and I fixed the cart.

I maintain my carts but a broken belt, dead battery or a handful of other things can't be predicted with 100% reliability.

Is it cheaper to do nothing and handle it when it fails? Definitely. Maybe not being on a fixed income alters my opinion of it but $60/year is chump change these days.

Have used Kart Aide a few times over the years for both the electric and gas carts. Tows and flat fixes with no hassle. Consider it a service agreement.

It's not only a question of what you can afford, it's a question of convenience. You might be coming home late at night and get a flat tire or a broken battery wire or anything. How do you get home and how to you get your cart to a service center?

That $400 that you saved comes out to about ten cents a day.

I've had them for five years and needed them three times. It's like they were waiting around the corner in a phone booth waiting on my call. I never waited more than 15-20 minutes. They are worth it at double the price. They underpromise and overdeliver. I highly recommend them.

They also rolled the Cart from our Golf Cart garage to the street plugged the tire, checked the air in all 4 tires, and then I took it to have it patched properly. They help us. We love 'em.

What was wrong with just leaving it plugged?

IF I had to, I can always call the same company.
They charge $70.

(& there are other services which do not request "membership".)

I’m very pleased with Kart Aide…awhile back they towed my cart 3 times in a little over a month, because of poor diagnosis and repair work by Villages carts.
And they never questioned multiple service calls, and always came very promptly.
We all choose differently the areas were we would like to save money,
but Kart Aide is not one of my choices.

Had Kart Aid come when using a neighbor's cart for visitors. Cost $50. came within 20 min. in the rain and gave the visitors a ride.
If you have an accident w/o Kart Aid the police will call a Wildwood towing company and will cost you hundreds of dollars.

From everything we've read, they seem to be a really inexpensive way to sleep better at night knowing help is available at a time - when it is most needed. As with ANY insurance, it may seem to be a waste if never used, but that's the nature of insurance in general. We definitely plan on using them when we get there.

Might be time to order a new cart. I have had Kart aid for years and only needed them twice and they were right there to help.

Buy a plan from AAA they will tow your golf cart to your desired destination. Plus you have coverage on your car also. SO you get 2 for 1 services.
