Caught my attention. You you might consider the glass bottom boats at Tarpon Springs.
It is very touristy but.................

I don't know if it's "the best spot", but I recommend Tampa Electric's Manatee Viewing Center. On my first visit several years ago, I was peering into the water, searching for a manatee among the huge boulders in the inlet. Then I realized the boulders were manatees.

I can't help it. Before someone else does it. They are off for Thanksgiving, it is in their contract.

Most wildlife is trying, born, not to be seen.

Far as wildlife, years ago I was in my 15 foot boat and saw a plastic bag. I went over to pick up after some xxxx as I got closer I discovered it was a whale far larger than my boat. We parted ways and did not bother each other.

We went out to the State Park facility off of Homassasa trail in Crystal River and it was a great place. We where there were between 40 and 50 Manatees in the waters of which we saw probably 25 or so and very few people so we pretty much set our own pace, a lot of other wildlife was out at the facility also, bear, lynx, hippo, all kinds of birds, nice place to spend a few hours. Got back in time to change and head to Prima's Steak House for their Thanksgiving turkey dinner which was also great and had plenty left to bring home for a sandwich on Friday. Not the same as being with family but found it to be a very nice and relaxing day.
