If Kyle had not been armed he would be dead. He was asked to come to protect property from arsonists and rioting violent thugs. The prosecution had no case as it was clearly self defense. Essentially, the right to self defense was on trial. The case should never have been brought. Binger wanted to make a name for himself at Kyle's expense, a terrible thing to do to a law abiding 18 year old.

It would not surprise me if the prosecution team was investigated for ethics violations, fifth amendment issues, asking witnesses to lie, not producing the jump kick thug who they had identified, providing a much poorer quality video than they had belatedly to the defense and Binger mishandling the AR-15 with his finger on the trigger. Indeed, the index (trigger) finger is now being referred to as the "Binger finger" by many.

I agree with the verdict. But, I don't think a jury should ever be exposed to any possible influence, except the lawyers and the witnesses who present the evidence in the case. The trial was broadcast on television for anyone who wanted to view it.

Getting justice in one of two, is at least a baby step in righting our very lopsided system against people of color. To keep working on actually balancing the scales and scouring out the systemic racism that some don't even believe exists, will take a successful prosecution of this person also - and sanctioning two of the attorneys in the Ahmaud trial (black pastor whiner/toenail woman).

I do not buy that you can take a weapon like that into a riot area and make a self-defense argument unless you are law enforcement and are also doing things with the law and other ethical codes on your side. For instance, I cannot see a law enforcement officer shooting rioters as they come out of a store carrying electronics or whatever.

And I give this kid in Kenosha the benefit of the doubt as to why he carried a weapon like that into a riot area.

Not even close to being true. Jump kicker, skate board guy and the thug pulling the gun on Kyle were doing him bodily harm and likely attempting to kill him. Kyle acted in self defense. Fortunately he was armed and killed two violent criminals and shot a third. I am quite relieved he killed the heinous serial child molester as he unknowingly did society and future victims a great favor.

To be fair, Sharpton could have seen the verdict happen anywhere, but instead, he did what he tends to do, which is to insert himself into a racially charged event in order to get in front of the cameras. It's not the color of his skin that is the problem, it's his habit of constantly trying to squeeze himself into the picture.

The CORRECT verdict in both trials. Hopefully those 3 racist bigots will get the full sentences - but now the state will need to house and feed them...

On another point - why do the usual folks come out to support the of-color victims of the few "racist" crimes W on B? But with the HUNDREDS of national B on B crimes and murders.... nada. Silence, and nothing improves at all. A cryin' shame for inner-city people. And of course for the many many B on W crimes, shh..... very sad. All lives matter.

Someone, above, asked about why the neighbor was charged. The neighbor (Mr. Bryan) was convicted for felony murder and lesser included/related charges. Because he participated in the chase - but mainly the cornering (false imprisonment - a felony - by positioning his truck so as to prevent Mr. Arbery from escaping the three men) of Mr. Arbery - that lead to his death, Mr. Bryan's felony level actions (false inprisonment) contributed to the situation which lead to Mr. Arbery's death. Class textbook felony murder situation; could be used in law school classes to explain the concept.

Similar to driver of a getaway car who gets charged with felony murder when the robber kills the victim being robbed.

I think it has been demonstrated the he did not cross state lines with the weapon in question, poor judgment going there in the first place, yes, but not to the point, having the weapon well the jury agreed to self defense, looking for trouble , you know this how?? no past history to suggest that on the other hand I think I have read something about all of the three involved have felony records, that would come out in a civil action and not aid in indicating liability on Rittenhouse's part rather indicate they were looking for "trouble" all this aside of the video of them chasing Rittenhouse, I think Rittenhouse will be on the receiving end of benefits of civil actions

If Kyle had not been armed he would be dead. He was asked to come to protect property from arsonists and rioting violent thugs. The prosecution had no case as it was clearly self defense. Essentially, the right to self defense was on trial. The case should never have been brought.

I agree. There were two things about what happened to Kyle after this event that were shocking. (1) - he was put in a cell with no running water and was not allowed to shower for one month! His skin had degraded and was infected/bleeding. When he was finally allowed to take a shower he took a 3 hour shower and his skin was a MESS! (2) - his first attorneys were more concerned about their Trump message than they were about their client. Kyle's bail was high but the Go Fund Me had raised more than enough money to bail him out and his attorneys didn't bail him out. They instead kept him in jail in this inhumane situation with no showers. It's a good thing he finally got an attorney who actually cared about his client. His former attorneys are now trying to keep the over one million dollars of the Go Fund Me money for Kyle. Scum of the earth!

So what if he was there. Your point being?????
My point is that it seems to me that he only wants to widen the gap between the races for personal gain. He never has a positive message. Most posters agree that justice was served in the trial, but, I don't see what role Al Sharpton had other than to get paid to show up. Maybe I am missing something, but I have never heard him suggest anything constructive to improve race relations.

Why the Kyle Rittenhouse 'not guilty' verdict is not a surprise to legal experts : NPR (https://www.npr.org/2021/11/19/1057422329/why-legal-experts-were-not-surprised-by-the-rittenhouse-jurys-decision-to-acquit)

This explains stuff well.

The verdict was no surprise to me as he should never have been put on trial.

The only thing worse than a murderer is a murdering braggart. Those men will do some hard time, and we are all better off with them incarcerated.

with any luck they will qualify for the death penalty

Oh, I don't know... Maybe they felt it was important to document what was going on?

Lord knows the rest of the MSM wasn't doing it accurately...

What does it matter if Al Sharpton was there? Maybe the family requested he be there for moral support. Regardless, he had no effect on the verdict.

there's an old addage, 'have camera will travel.'

Spare me your righteous indignation...

He's been called that by many. If you bothered to watch the Instagram video I posted earlier, you'd see that others (including African Americans) feel the same way...

Sharpton has made a career of that. He's also gotten people killed because of his lies and rhetoric...

"Spare me your righteous indignation..."

It's actually called "human decency." Something so many are no longer interested in even bothering to pretend - that they possess.

Get real

Why was Al Sharpton there?

Because the toilets were backed up.

Sharpton lost any shred of "human decency" he may have had when he incited riots in NYC that got people killed...

Overall sad situation. Sad that an 18 year old had to do the job I would have had the National Guard do.

YES! YES!! hit it out of the ball park...again!!!

If Kyle had not been armed he would be dead. He was asked to come to protect property from arsonists and rioting violent thugs.

I am trying to get my head around who would have asked an underage kid to purchase an assault weapon through a straw buyer and then cross state lines to "protect property". Your comment defies common sense.

This was a kid who made a very bad decision in wanting to play soldier man. It was his youth which protected him from being convicted. But, the bottom line is he killed two people and grievously injured another because of his ill formed teenage decision.

Further, there was a video of him walking past cops cavalierly waving his assault weapon (I forgot whether this was before or after he had shot those three victims). Had he not been white, I suspect he would have been shot by the cops...or ..at the least he would have been arrested. Kenosha cops seem to take a disliking to people of color. Those cops started the whole thing off by their shooting of a black man repeatedly in the back without cause.

I find it impossible to find a thread of truth in any of these nonsensical false allegations. The facts came out doing trial.
