Does anyone else living in a courtyard villa have a problem with cracks where the ceiling and the wall meet on their back porch? If so, what was your solution. Wondering if my bird cage could be pulling on the porch roof?

Had similar in our designer Indigo. Repaired under warranty but our home inspector said it’s a common problem in this type of construction. Just reseal and repaint as needed.

We live in a Designer home built 18 years ago, and have the same problem. Plan to seal and repaint this winter.

It doesn't look like a major issue. Caulk and paint. I don't think the birdcage has anything to do with it.

Try adding a wooden trim around the ceiling. Should stop the seam from showing up again every year as seasons change

It will pretty much disappear when it get's hot again, they open in the winter and close in the summer.

In block construction I think minor crakes are normal. You fill them and paint over. The problem will be deterring if this is minor or your foundation is shifting. I would assume minor and just watch that it does not grow. If you are under warranty call then and ask them to look at it. You will at least have it on record.

Molding/Coving has always been my go-to solution for this problem.
Aesthetically more pleasing in MHO.
Once you master cutting inside and outside angles it is easy to install as a DIY project.
