Wonder why, they were always very busy. We went several times and tried to go early or late so we didn’t have to wait. But even at 3:30 you could get in but they had a line when we were leaving. And at 7:30 there were still lots of people there but you didn’t have to wait.

Iced tea? Free bread? I love iced tea and free bread. How come I never heard of this place? Aww, and now it's gone.

Seriously, starting any kind of business is tough. Sorry to hear an apparently popular place gone.

Their website says permanently closed as well. No explanation or reason given. They had been advertising in the Villages paper recently and seemed to be doing very well. Very odd indeed.

They were a Forum Sponsor and had a recent positive Yelp review from a 11/27/21 visit.

The Shrimps Facebook page, which was run by employees not the owners, states it is closed permanently. If you read the comments on that page you will see that the manager said one of the investors pulled out for personal reasons and the employees were given no notice. They were open Sunday and permanently closed Monday.

I just went to the FB page and read the multitude of comments from customers, managers and staff. Sad situation for all concerned. Seems that getting a new investor might be an answer to the problem. Easier said than done I am sure.

I am crushed! I was one of their early customers and raved about it on this site and on other social media. We just took friends there to eat on Friday. I certainly hope they find a new investor to re-open it!

They did look pretty short? Stunted growth from too much caffeine?

We were there a month ago and shared the shrimp boil. Very tasty, so much so, that I copied their concoction at home and added crab . . . so good!

Harbor Lights survived there for decades and Shrimp's only a few months, something big time must have happened, maybe ill health or even financial. It's a nice sized building and someone I'm sure will take it over unless the property itself is the problem.
