Looking at the 2022 rates and wondering what happened to the Wave pricing. No more evening wave? Talk about raising prices and inflation. If they modernize their tee time systems, it will help make more money for them.

Does anyone know why the Green Fees are $5.00 more at Southern Oaks?

Because they can charge any rate they damn well choose. But I believe it's a surcharge to cover the cost of the lovely background music coming from the turnpike.

They're CAPATALISTS with all caps. What the market will pay until proven otherwise. That's off original topic of 2022 golf rates.

And the cost of that background "music" has gone up since diesel is over $3.50/gal.:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Have not checked winter rates yet. SInce last year, almost everything has gone up in price. Owners of the gold courses are bsinesss people and do want to make a profit. We do have choices and if we do not like TV prices, we can go elsewhere.

Went to Harbor Hills day after Thanksgiving and played in PM. 3 of us played and rate was <$100. including the golf cart. We have a non golfer 4th person and they allowed that person to ride for $0.

Course was in better condition than most TV courses.

For the owners they have a captive audience, many of whom do not want to leave the area to play.

There is no change as far as I can tell from the rates during the same months in 2021.

What would this word mean if it wasn't all CAPS???

There is never a separate wave price in the winter.

Speaking of Southern Oaks, the extra cost is for the free turnpike music.

So, no other course is next to a major thoroughfare in The Villages?

There is never an afternoon wave price over the winter months. The prices remained the same , however that price use to include tax and now it is plus tax. Every time they add a new championship, they raise their prices usually by 3 or 4 dollars.

my son just had a house built in Lakewood Ranch just outside Sarasota. THe course next to his development charges either $99 or $140 depending on time of day or weekend, TV courses don't look so bad compared to that. I however play the executives.

As things get older prices will go up. Just like amenities. Get used to it even TV will have to raise prices faster as things get older you’ll start to see things start to go up daily!

the winter rates seem to be the same as last year. according to my bank statement I paid $47.00 at Glenview and lopez the following week and if my memory is still working there has never been a wave price change in the winter the second wave starts at 11:56 so if you dont tee off by 1pm you wont finish in daylight.

maybee you should do some research before you shoot your mouth off

Looks exactly the same as 2021(except for the added sales tax).

$47 buys 18-holes for the best courses (except Southern Oaks which I won't be playing anytime soon).

Nine hole fee continues to be 1/2, 18-hole cost — most course outside the villages charge more that 50%.

I'm happy.

Yes, but some posters need to try to create drama.

Not unless you consider Morse & Buena Vista a major thoroughfare like I-75...

When we lived in the Los Angeles area we played about a dozen golf courses and each one was near a freeway and far louder than the turnpike. We paid no attention and had 40 wonderful years of golf on nice courses.

I don’t want to live near turnpike noise, but I don’t mind playing golf next to it at all. After all, it’s a built-in excuse for my terrible play!! :D

We are fairly new here and I am just getting the lay of the land so to speak. We like to go out and play 9 holes on a championship course during the Off-Peak season for a dollar a hole after 3PM or so. The process of getting those times is arcane but doable. Same day and wait until the starters figure out when the times might open depending on how many play 9. Playing championship courses 3 or more times a week gets expensive even after paying 925 for Priority Membership. Just shooting my mouth off again. Thanks for reading my post.
