Requires entering one's social security number.....Pass.

You don't want to use your SS# to log into the SSA website????? I assure you, SSA already knows your SS#:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Thanks but I did so a few days ago after I received an email from SS. It was bad news, a $100 reduction in my monthly allotment. IRMAA is the thieving culprit.

I hope you at least have an online account and access at MySSA. One may not be computer literate or comfortable with online anything, but making sure YOUR MySSA account is yours and active prevents anyone else from making one in lieu of you and impersonating you to wreak havoc with your benefits.
I know of at least one case where someone did not have an MySSA account. Some random person in another state fraudulently set one up instead. That random person then directed the benefits be deposited another bank (same as having your checks mailed to them instead of you), and made use of the money. It took them a few months to sort it out and get things back to the way they were.
Caveat Emptor.
Ignorance can be painful.
Good security is neither cheap nor convenient.

It happens when you're earning more than $91,000 in a given year. Call yourself Lucky and be thankful you aren't like the rest of us common folk.

Any real government site will have .gov in the address. Plus the log in page address should start with www.http.
Should look something like www.-----.gov

I’m not saying it’s a SCAM all one needs to do is type in minimal information such as ssa.gov then refine your search from there or ssa.gov/account then a person will need to login or establish account not everything is a SCAM!

Or you can walk into any SS office, and set up your online account, if you are unsure about creating an account with SS

You have to look under MESSAGES on the SSA site. The MESSAGES link is on top right under your name. There will be a message in there (mine was dated 11/26) with an attached PDF showing your new benefits. It won't just pop up on the SSA site.

I find it hard to believe that anyone that can post a comment on here, cannot figure out how to maneuver in a website to find the information that they are seeking. I did not use the link. I have a SS account on their website and easily found out what my SS benefit will be in the coming year. You do not need to be a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon to do it. OR, you can just wait until they send out the yearly benefit letter in the "snail mail."

This is NOT a scam. If you went to the my account site as I posted, you would go to your messages folder and see the message for you to read.

Why log in to see what your new amount will be? What you get is what you are going to get.
