Yes the EZPASS works in Florida and good in 16 states. Florida to Maine and virtually the mid west and Minnesota toll roads.
I have a Mass EZPASS for years distributed free but you need to set up an account and credit card to auto replenish just like Florida. New York charges a monthly fee of $1.00 whether you use it or not. Florida and Mass have no extra fees.
Holders of E-Pass and SunPass transponders can now use them to pay for their airport parking fees at Orlando International Airport. ... The standard parking fee will be deducted from the customer's account, and no additional fees are required.

no, not always, we have EPass here. i thought the EZPass would work wherever, but found that's not the case. i have sunpass, which is SUPPOSED to be able to cover the toll, but i still get notices in the mail re: unpaid amounts. when i call to inquire, they say Sunpass should work, but don't know why it didn't process...(?)

Florida says your EZPass will work in Florida; others have had problems.
Maryland wants to charge me a monthly fee to have a Maryland EZPass on a Florida address - I'm canceling that as soon as "customer support" gets back to me.
I just took a trip up there and used the Sunpass-Pro (combination Sunpass and EZPass) with no problems at all.

In NY, there are three agencies that issue E-ZPass within the state, the New York State Thruway Authority, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). The Port Authority and the MTA charge the $1 fee, the Thruway does not.

Does it have any markings on it at all? It should say "EZ Pass" or "Sunpass" or "E-Pass" or maybe just "Florida." Since EZ-Pass was only implemented widely in Florida in 2020-2021, a Florida transponder from nine years ago is very likely only a Sunpass.
Plus, as was mentioned previously, the statements you have been receiving should tell you which it is.

for years FL didn't accept EZPass transponders....glad to hear that FL now does, but I'm still holding on to my old Massachusetts transponder

I just got my new SunPass Pro, and it's working as advertised in other states as well as Florida. Note that you need to get the "Pro" version to cover the multitude of other states -- it just came out recently. This post reminded me I need to cancel my EzPass.

Sunpass Pro is good in "ALL" except South Carolina, Vermont and Connecticut. Maybe those states have no tolls?

There are no tolls in Connecticut. SC and VT both have tolls. SC has its own electronic toll payment system that isn't compatible with EZ Pass or SunPass. It's called Palmetto Pass. Vermont accepts only cash for theirs.

Had EZ Pass for trips up north and out to Chicago. Had Sun Pass here. Sun Pass wanted to charge for their Pro transponder to work outside the state. EZ Pass no charge. Cancelled Sun Pass, got the refund of what was in my account and only use EZ Pass here....have never had an issue. Sun Pass customer service was very helpful so the cancelation and refund was easy and pleasurable.

There are no tolls in Vermont. We live there half the year and have a New Hampshire EZ Pass to use in MA, NH, and Maine.

Now that FL accepts EZ-pass you need to be careful if you have both in your car. You may get charged twice, once by each transponder. Put the EZ-pass in its foil bag while in FL to prevent it from being detected in error.

I moved here in Jan 2020 and got what I thought was the SunPass with EZ-Pass interoperability. WRONG! When I went back north a few months ago my SunPass did not work. It was a mess. Make sure it’s a “SunPass PRO!!” Only that will work with EZ anywhere. NOT the mini or the pre-2021 transponder. I bought a new PRO at the Service Plaza and threw out the old one (after registering it online).

Ezpass is new to florida. It was not available 3 yrs ago when we came. Now we have both ezpass and sunpass. According to the website ezpass bow works everywhere in Florida. They do warn if you have both you should place one in an RF bag. If both ez and sun pass are read you may be double charged.
I had trouble with the sunpass working and found I had to associate my license plates with the pass, which is done on the website.

Does my EZpass work in Florida? Do I need to keep both?
I used EZ-Pass for many years in PA, NJ, and NY. I got it after friends driving north from Washington on a holiday weekend on I-95 got stuck in a toll booth line in Delaware for two hours. Now we zip past those areas at 65mph or faster. These are the good old days! When I moved to The Villages a year ago, I discovered that there was a section on the road between here and Orlando that used only SunPass and another section that accepted EZ-Pass. The SunPass web site said that EZ-Pass would be working with all SunPass roads by the end of 2020, but in April that hadn’t yet happened. So I got a SunPass transponder rather than receive a photo of my car and a bill every time I drove to the airport. It came in a little silvery envelope that blocks signals so it can’t be activated at toll plazas. Now I keep SunPass on my car all the time in Florida unless I’m driving North and leaving the state. I keep the EZ-Pass in the signal-blocking envelope in my glove box. I put it EZ-Pass on the windshield and take down the SunPass if I’m entering the rest of America.

I personally use E-Pass (Free sticker), but UNI and EZ-Pass Plus works in more states, but costs $14.95 for the transponder.

Does my EZpass work in Florida? Do I need to keep both?
We originally had to obtain a SunPass 18 months ago when we moved here as EZPass did NOT work on the FL Turnpike. Now, EZPass does work on the FL Turnpike, and all other FL Toll Roads. We have used EZPass exclusively for a couple of months now with NO issues. We stopped our SunPass and received a timely refund of our remaining SunPass balance, and a confirmation email that our SunPass service has been terminated. We are back to a single EZPass that works up and down the east coast (our primary travel routes), and we are very happy with that. Hope this helps...

Does my EZpass work in Florida? Do I need to keep both?
Depends on the toll road you are using. Some take EZPass or IPass, some do not. Not sure if those take Sunpass. If you travel thru Atlanta, your Sunpass works on the Peachpass lanes.
Now, isn’t that simple?
Select no toll roads option on your GPS.

Even though I didn't get SunPass Pro, I recently got charged for a toll in NY because a family member whose plate is on my account went through a toll. No transponder. They charged me based on their plate.

Do you still have the RF bag it came in? That should prevent it from getting pinged in your glove compartment...

EZPass will only work in designated areas in Florida. Not everywhere.
Likewise, SunPass will work in most areas of Florida.
Problem is, Florida's contract with the company that runs SunPass.
Florida is looking to end it's contract With the SunPass management, which has had problems for years.
Their solution is SunPass PLUS, which will run on both systems, throughout the east, but managed by the EZPass people.
You need to get a SunPass Plus transponder. As of 5 months ago, no one in The Villages had them.
In that my experience was 5 months ago, call around (Publix, Walgreens, CVS, AAA) and see if they have them. If not, you need to order from Sunpass.com. It took about 2 weeks for me to get it.

SunPass PLUS is a way to use SunPass to pay for parking, it has nothing to do with highway tolls.
SunPass PRO is the new transponder that works for both SunPass and EZPass tolls. I used my SunPass PRO recently in NY and NJ.
I purchased my SunPass PRO in Publix back in October.

SunPass is a pre-paid system. The transponder itself is only a device, there is no value stored on it. You must link the transponder to an account and then add funds to the account in order for it to pay the tolls. Yes, my account has a credit card attached to automatically add funds when needed.
I have used EZPass in Maryland for over ten years and SunPass in Florida for three years and never stopped at a manned toll booth.

I finally got EPass and that covers all the tolls in Florida and all the tolls when I drive up north. I believe, from my experience, that is Wrong. Have had Sunpass for years and always was properly charged on CFA tolls with dozens or trips to/from MCO most recently 4x this weekend. Not sure why you had problems.
Edit: (From CFA website):
CFX operates two types of collection systems: traditional toll plazas and modern express lanes. Toll plazas service cash-paying and electronic-payment customers while express lanes serve only electronic-payment customers. By using express lanes, electronic-payment motorists avoid slowdowns and backups at toll plazas. Motorists using E-PASS, SunPass, LeeWay, PeachPass, E-ZPass or NC Quick Pass transponders are encouraged to use express lanes on CFX roads.
