I have noticed Christmas decorations on the windows at the old Cody's on Mulberry (CR 42). Anyone have an update on whether or not The Back Porch is moving in?

This thread has been done at least 3 times and even then I wondered why people care so much about places that are not here yet

Nice to see they are still interested, gives hope that they will eventually open. Another poster asked why we care so much. Well, up this far north we don't have an abundance of restaurants. Cody's added a nice option to the dining here, so a replacement would be a welcome addition.

And yet you took the time to open the thread just to make a snarky response. :ohdear:

I talked to two different guys there last week. The first who appeared to be a contractor said they hoped to open end of Feb. then I encountered another man I think was the owner and he said they hoped to open in Jan so either way it’s looking hopeful for early next year.

Some folks have absolutely no sense of humor, and some of the complaints and questions are borderline dumb.

Reality, humor does not work well in this format.

Why should you care 20 miles away?

If the contractor says February, and the possible owner says January, it will probably be March at the earliest.

~~Maybe people living nearby are very interested in being able to dine at the new restaurant..

Agreed. Once the poster has an answer or answers see no reason not to be funny yet folks will complain.

Well, I'll give it a try:

"A nun was in her office with the window open and construction men were working across the street using bad language.

The nun wondered if she would go over on her lunch break and ask if these men know Jesus.

Noon time came, she took her lunch bag along across the street, sat between two men,
and ask, "Do any of you men know Jesus?"

They looked puzzled, then one guy howlers up, "Hey Pete, Do you know Jesus?"

Pete says: "No Why".

Because "I think his mother is here with his lunch."

I believe they have been looking for help so if they are ready to hire it must be soon.

If you think you don't have an abundance of restaurants up north, come on down south of 44 and see what we have!

I was there yesterday and saw more than I thought but definitely need more. With the bridges you can at least go over 44 to restaurants near the bridges.
